I'm doing my BSN online. And as we all know the books are expensive. My co-worker is taking the class next semester and he always is asking me about the class--- the class is a hard course, and the book brand new was $162, I had to buy it new. And now he's saying and always reminding me-- keep your book,--
I don't know how to talk to him to sell my book. Im even paying a tutor to help me with the class, and in the course of my school career no one has ever given me a book. I don't know how to say in a nice way, "I will sell you the book" without sounding so cheap, or mean.

I wouldn't have any problem telling him you paid $160 for the book!

Next time he "reminds" you to keep your book, say "Why? Do you want to buy it when I'm done?" LOL problem solved

He could just be being polite.
There are situations where I wish I still had my 100 lbs. Med Surg book that I sold right after nursing school.
I have since bought another one because I wanted the info around!

Tell him "I actually had planned to keep it as a reference but if you really want it I guess I don't mind selling it to you... As a 'poor college student' I could certainly use the money!" real nonchalant and non-confrontational-like.

Just play it cool and say: "I normally put my books on ebay when I'm done. This helps me pay for the next book; but if you would like to buy it, I'll hold it for you."
thanks for the advice everyone. I just feel weird selling things. But I will try to do that. I mean, I would not sell it for $162 bucks, but I would sell it for $70 or $80
we are both RN's, but he is my head supervisor. lol..

here's another thought:
when he said "save it for me", he may simply have meant not to sell it to someone else first because he wanted it. meaning to buy it from you.
