Hello everyone, I am new to this site and reviewed a quite helpful links. I graduted from college with a business mgmt degree but looking to get into the medical field. I HATE blood. (Yes I know limits my careers). But I want to be a GI tech/endoscopy tech. I did alot of research and some sites tell me I just have to be a medical assistant, then others say lpn, rn, surgical tech. Can someone give me a good opinion. I was going to start out as a HHA while I go to school for LPN. I feel like medical assistants, from people I talked to graduated with a certificate but can't get hired because they have no experience. Also, do you think if I volunteer in a GI office that would help me get a job in the long run?

Thanks for your time

It depends on what facility you want to apply if they do credit volunteerism as an experience,,

I hope I work at a hospital. I was going to do HHA, and then lpn, and get pass my LPN test at the american board of gastroenterology (spelled wrong I think). Do you think if I volunteer at a GI office it would give me a good thing to put on my resume? Also what if I take just some free courses on the web regarding gastrology. I'm sorry for the questions. Thanks For replying.
