Hi everyone! This is my first post in this forum. I self-reported for diversion a few months back and will enter my states recovery nurse program soon. I am aware of most of the things I won't be allowed to do until I finish the program (5 years). Will I be allowed to enroll in school? I want to start working on my MSN. Thanks everyone!

Depends on your state. You need to look at your states program. Seems like I read that in Texas you have to inform them and the school. Others may be better versed. Good luck.

You will have to talk to the school, in my state you can not attend an msn program unless you have an unemcumbered lisence

All the MSN programs I researched stated that you have to have an unencumbered license to enroll.

Probably depends in what state. Here in Virginia the HPMP program does not restrict you from going back to school and most of the nurses in the program are granted stays of discipline thus no restrictions on the license. I've been looking at grad schools as well and am sure that HPMP will require me to disclose to the school that I am in a program. Pretty sure the schools will suspect something anyway because VA changes your license from multi state privilege to a VA only while being in a monitoring program. I'd say check your license online and see if it says anything about restrictions, then read your monitoring programs handbook and contract cover to cover before asking your case manager.
