do I transfer? SCSU sophmore

Published

Hey everyone I have been looking at this website for a while and love it! I need some advice, I am a sophomore at scsu in CT I will not be applying in February as originally planned bc I don't have enough pre reqs done. So I will be applying the following February 2017, I currently have a 2.9 gpa and need a 3.0 minimum to apply. They're only accepting 80 applicants so I feel kind of stuck, do I continue here or should I look else where, I just feel like a spent a lot already to leave but don't want to risk not getting in and can't think of a less expensive way to get bachelors. Please any suggestions

There really isn't an 'easy' way to obtain a BSN (or ADN)... everyone has to complete the same requirements. A more worrisome issue would be your GPA. I don't know of any program accepting applicants with the 'minimum requirements' because of the sheer number of people trying to get in. I think you may discover that the actual minimum GPA for students that are admitted is much higher than 3.0. Most programs also require an admissions test for applicants (e.g., TEAS), so this result is also an important factor.

If you want a better idea of the level of competition, see if you can obtain information about the program's admission RATE. This is calculated by dividing the actual number admitted by the number that applied. So, a 25% admission rate would indicate a MUCH more competitive program than a 75% admission rate.

Best of luck to you on your educational journey.

Thanks for the advice I appreciate and deffinitley will check out the rate
