I think I've landed my dream job

Wow, I'm loving my new job. I make my own hours, sleep in late if I want to, don't have to go anywhere I don't want to (stay close to home) one on one patient care, good pay with mileage, have time to run errands, walk dog, keep house clean, etc...this job rocks!:nurse::redbeathe:lol2:

Wow that does really sound great. I have been working in the hospital setting for 11 years & I am now considering making a change. I have to have benefits for the family. Can anyone give feedback on how homehealth works if you need to be full time for benefits. Desperatly want to find something that allows me to both work & be a mom.

I am a CNA/HHA for HH and at my company as a CNA/HHA you have to log 36 hours per week your first three months to get benefits. As an RN I believe you have to have 25 patient visits, basically amounting to 5 pts per day if you were working five days a week. I love HH because of the patient/family relationships you build.

Specializes in LTC, Agency, HHC.

I was just hired on for a HHC agency, and after reading some of these posts, I am very excited, especially after being in LTC for so long! My agency doesn't have MCD/MC patients, they take private pay and some insurances. Can you tell me what the grade A, or the grades of HHC are? (I never knew there were any,) and how I should start/prioritize my day? What should I ask in orientation? Maybe give me an idea of how your work week is. Do I need a laptop? Thanks!!

On average, how long does it take you in a day to get your visits done? Then can you go home to get your charting done?

I have heard that for a full time home health nurse, it could be done in 25 hours a week. Could that be possible???

Not if you want to do it properly and do it well.
