I Passed!!! Yes!!!!

Published

I took the NCLEX-RN for the first time on Monday, June 16, 2008 and I passed!!!

I graduated more than a year ago....I procrastinated in getting my license, because I never thought I could pass in a million years. I even got a job as a barista serving coffee for 9 months...without a single thought as to what I would do about my B.S.N. degree.

Then in March, I attended Martin Review in San Jose. It was a good review...because it reviewed all the different systems...etc. But I won't say that I had any questions related to that review....because honestly the NCLEX asked me everything I didn't study! (LOL go figure).

I studied for about 2 weeks on and off and really buckled down the last 4 days. I was in full panic. On the day of the test I thought I was going to throw up everywhere.

My test had 3 computations. The same kind 3 times with different wording. Lots of Pharma about drugs I didn't know. Oh my gosh! I nearly cried everytime a drug popped up. I studied a lot of drugs...but none of them were on the test. At least 15 select all that apply. LOTS AND LOTS AND LOTS of priority, delegation, and "who would you discharge?". A lot...at least 60% of my test.

I had 235 questions in 3 hours. I left the testing center feeling like the dumbest person on earth. After 150 questions I was BEGGING the computer to just put me out of my misery and shut down!! (Because I always read that people pass at 75...so obviously I was doing poorly since I was already heading towards the 200's.)

BUT I checked the website this morning for the 100th time and my name was there!!!!! I am so happy and relieved....and confused....how the heck did I pass????

Congratulations!!!:balloons::balloons::balloons:
