I passed yayy

I can't believe it!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I PASSED!!!! :balloons:I had 114 questions and it was the hardest test EVER. I had about 50 med questions! I Had a TON of infection questions! I only had like one or 2 lab questions. I realllly wanted ABG's, calculations, or crutch questions because I would have definitely gotten those right. But I didn't have any.

IM SO glad its over!!!!!! Good LUCK to everyone who is going to be taking the NCLEX!!

I did the smartest thing in my life by getting a bunion removed right after graduation. I have been on crutches for 10 weeks, and I'm getting off of them next week .But by doing this I was able to sit and do at least 100 questions a day and study a little bit. I made sure that I didn't over do it.

Hey Guys,

My test date is getting REALLY close...I just took my readiness test for kaplan and I scored at 70%. I've even gotten up to 75% on Qbank. I have one week till test date. Should I worry? Am i cool?? What do i do for the next week. I'm a tad bit (ALOT) nervous. Thanks for all your help and support :-)

Chole, hey I'm having a serious panic attack. My exam is in less than a week and my scores are plummeting. This is what I have so far:

Q trainer #1 63%

Q trainer #2 66%

Q trainer #3 67%

Q trainer #4 61%

Q trainer #5 57%

I scored 62% on the diagnostic and 70% on the readiness test. I've been scoring high 60s/low 70s on qbank. Should I reschedule?!? I'm seriously freaking out. That qtrainer #5 is what did it. dude, i'm SCARED. Thanks for listening (or rather reading).

Honestly 2ndtimer, those look like my scores. And your 70% on the readiness test looks even better than mine! I'd give you my exact scores, but Kaplan cut me off.

But honestly you are right on target. You're doing great. Ease your conscience by reminding yourself as someone on this forum said to me...Add 10% to your Kaplan scores and that is how you can expect to perform on the NCLEX. And it helped to calm my anxiety b/c I would look at my scores, try to predict how the overachievers in my class were scoring, and make comparisons. That doesn't help.

So add the 10%, back off fr test mode and continue onto tutor mode and after you complete your 50 or so questions at a time...go back and review the rationale behind each and every answer.

It helps to understand not only why you answered the way you did, but why they asked it the way they did. You already know this. You've been there. You will be ok. Deep breath in...now let it out ;>) I just breathed along w/ you. :p

Also, I took a chance and rejoined my local gym to get the O2 circulating to my tissues. I swear, that and sleep really made a difference in my scores. Even if slightly.

you're a rock star!! You can do this. I'm pulling for you:Melody::yeah:

Thank you Chole for being so supportive and helpful. Funny you mentioned excercise....yesterday was the first day in about 2 weeks that I hadnt gone running first thing in the morning. Its amazing how that helps isnt it? after i run I'm calmer, more focused ect. I think more than anything else, I'm worried about properly thinking the q's through...its difficult!! Sigh. I did get into contact with someone from Kaplan and they said that the qbank is supposed to be more difficult then the nclex. i guess I just gotta do the best I can right? I did nothing all day but answer questions....I need to review material though...its just SOO much stuff. Thank G-d for having nice people respond to my posts, otherwise I'd be totally gone by this point! My friends and family are great, but theyve had enough NCLEX.:uhoh3: haha. Hope youre doing great!!

Hi Chole,

Just wanted to let you know I took qtrainer #6 and scored @ 68% :-). I excercised RIGHT before sat down and pretended it was the nclex. it worked. today i went to check the exact site of the test (good thing I did, it wasnt as easy to find as they said it would be). I'm staying calm and reviewing...less then two days left till "THE" test. Any words of advice?

Hiya 2ndtimer!

gosh you could be my lil sister...;) That was smart of you to find the location of the test center. I admit I did that too. Even tho I knew where it was, I timed it and wanted to know what the parking situation and any other possible obstacles to detour. so even tho it meant a bit of driving, it saved my nerves. OCD? perhaps. Who cares? I would make sure to do things slower and gradually so as not to throw my system in shock. Such as an easier work out, so as not to exhaust myself, or a decent hi-protein w/ carbs b'fast, but not overstuffing my gills and going from flight/fight mode into rest/digest/food coma.

Basically everything in moderation. your Qtrainer scores look good!!! Now it's all about review. You shouldn't have to be learning anymore. Just flash cards of drugs, side effects of the drugs, clinical manifestations of diseases and interventions to perform. You're grazing now. It's all downhill. Save your energy for the big battle.

Get to bed early the night before, arise early and well rested the morning of. Don't attempt any new routines. Keep it simple. Allow yourself plenty of time to drive to the testing site. Go thru the routine of registering/checking in. Ask for the ear plugs, and when you sit down, smile a big grin, whisper to yourself that you are prepared, you are ready, you know this stuff, and giggle b/c you are gonna kick its a**!!!

Anything else I can do for you? Nope. you got it covered m'dear. You are ready. You are gonna rock!!!!!!

Hi There Chloe,

I took my exam...it stopped at 95-or 96 questions (i wasnt paying attention to the number)...I really dont know how I did. I'm sure I got number one on the test wrong. I have no idea how I did, I've been studying so hard, I really hope I did ok. I didnt feel awful when I left either, is that a bad sign? Sigh. I'm glad its over, it took me 2.5 hours to answer the questions...I went REALLY slow, but I have no clue. Pray I passed!!

I'm praying 2nd Timer, I'm praying.....but all looks and sounds quite positive. Hang in there. You cannot change anything about it now. So take a deep breath and exhale the whole thing. As we say down here in Atlanta GA, "I'll worry about it tomorrow" (Scarlett O'Hara, Gone w/ the Wind)

What are your plans for the next 48 hours? :crash_com:bugeyes:

I think I'm going to be doing alot of work to distract myself, watch some movies ect. I'm afraid of checking the website....

I got alot of select all that apply, prioritization, and evaluation of teaching. Is this a good thing? I guess I did really good or really bad? Dont worry, I'm breathing- I just dont know if im doing so deeply enough. hehe. I didnt sleep great last night, evded up taking some cough medicine to knowck myself out. Everything went smooth at the test center and stuff though. I didnt feel like the questions were awfully hard...is that bad? sigh. Bless your patience with me Chole! I appreciate it :lol2:

I told you we'll get through this together. What will be, will be. You've got great attitude and inner strength. Not to mention stamina! I swear I was walking into walls and parading in circles the first night. I also couldn't tear myself away fr the computer long enough for it to go into sleep mode! Got a callous on my finger from hitting the mouse to refresh the Pearson Vue screen. See how well you are handling this?
