I passed yayy

I can't believe it!!! I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I PASSED!!!! :balloons:I had 114 questions and it was the hardest test EVER. I had about 50 med questions! I Had a TON of infection questions! I only had like one or 2 lab questions. I realllly wanted ABG's, calculations, or crutch questions because I would have definitely gotten those right. But I didn't have any.

IM SO glad its over!!!!!! Good LUCK to everyone who is going to be taking the NCLEX!!

I did the smartest thing in my life by getting a bunion removed right after graduation. I have been on crutches for 10 weeks, and I'm getting off of them next week .But by doing this I was able to sit and do at least 100 questions a day and study a little bit. I made sure that I didn't over do it.

Congrats, congrats!! That must feel so lovely! I think you put a post up a week or two ago that you were nervous. I'm happy to hear good news. I'm taking the exam in a little over two weeks and am scared to death. I think you took Kaplan...can I ask you, I'm trying to figure out if I should be worried. I have a 63% average on qbank and have taken q trainers 1-3 and I'm above 65%. Today I got the results of my diagnostic exam and scored borderline...Have any advice? Should I be worried? Again congrats on your accomplishment...I hope to be posting good new soon too

Those sound liek good numbers to me. Kaplan says add 10 pts over what you get on their tests. You're in like flint. Just keep doing what you're doing. And read those rationales. Be sure you know why you missed the ones you missed.

Thank you Chloe...I hope you're right. You see, I took the exam once and did not pass...I really need to make it. I'm trying to be positive and I think thats helping. I know I am doing better this time then last time. I take the readiness test for kaplan in a week and I'm going to study for it as if its the actual NCLEX...hopefully in two weeks, I'll be as you said 'in like flint' Thanks for your support- it means alot. Have a great night.

I believe you will! Great attitude. Great courage. You will make a fine fine nurse. I'll share something that I think made the diff on test day for me...I had just driven thru typical commuter hell as we have it here in Atlanta. Took over an hour to get to my 8:30 appt. I didn't sleep the night before and had a horrible swollen throat to boot. So got an idea how I was feeling for testing? Blech! I wanted to reschedule so bad! But I got to the center and the administrators were so wonderful, I couldn't help but smile and laugh and joke w/ them. Then the lady at teh desk that signed me in said, "you are going to make a terrific nurse!"

Boosted my confidence or something. I was shaking in the knees going in to test, but then went about my testing almost as if on auto pilot.

The computer shut down at 76. I couldn't believe it. Long story short (due to all the threads already started since Thurs! LOL ) I passed. I think I'll drive back there and bring that nice lady a plant for her desk.

You are going to be a terrific nurse!!!! (paying it forward!) :nurse:

luv2shopp-

I was wondering since you said you had almost 50 med questions-

What sources did you use to study meds? Did you read any texts or only questions for meds?

Thaks.

Honestly i did not even study meds! My friends who took the test said that they didn't have a lot of med questions and the meds they did have they had never even heard of. Theres just wayyyy too many different meds to study.

Wow Chole! Thats awesome. I have to tell you, I read your post and it made me smile. You see, the first time I took my exam I was in NYC and I took it @9am. I hate rushing in the morning it makes me nervous, so this time, I first scheduled my exam for 11am and then found a 3pm slot for the same day. I switched it to 3pm because I wanted to skip the traffic (I'm in Miami at the moment with family and we have the same awful traffic you mentioned exists in Atlanta). I'm trying to de-stress in anyway possible. The fact that you were able to concentrate after all that is great. I have 15 days left...I'll try to make the most of them :). Did you just take ur exam?

Thanks :-) that makes me feel better. Ill just keep studying. I also had TONS of med questions the first time I took the test and I didnt concentrate enough on meds, so this time, I'm trying to study them more...alot more. I hope youre enjoying NOT STUDYING :balloons:

I am so very grateful that I scheduled my appointment for 12 pm! The night before I was tossing and turning until 2 am and it would have just been horrible to get up at 6 am, drive through traffic for 1 hour and then take the test at 8 am. I probably would have failed.

Took it Thurs Aug 16, found out Sat 18th that I passed. What an excruciating 48 hours (to the minute!!) that is. Make sure you are not alone if possible. Trim your nails and keep all sharp instruments away LOL. Don't operate heavy machinery. :rotfl::roll
