WOW!!! Thanks for getting back to us!!!! I have been wondering!@!
Wonderful that you put yourself out there and made that effort to have a national credential - means a lot to all of us, your students, their families, to the nationally certified teachers in your building, and administration!!!!!
Celebrate!!!
I was hoping to be considered for NY state NBCSN liaison, as there are none in NY state AT ALL. There were only 60 NCSN's in NY state before this past testing, and I don't know how many were added with it.
The other states/facilities I have worked in rewarded and encouraged specialty certifications. When I was an OB nurse, it was expected that after so many years, you would obtain certification to establish competency.
I am not sure if, as a newly certified nurse, NBCSN would consider me as liaison, to refer and assist others in the application and study process. Does anyone here know anything about this? Thanks in advance for any information you may have.
They would absolutely consider you as a Liaison. All is needed is enthusiasm and a willingness to share information with state school nurses about national certification. The application is on the NBCSN website: http://www.nbcsn.com/PDFs/LiaisonApplication.pdf
