I passed the NET. I'm in!!!!

Published

I am so excited. I just had to let everyone know.

I got my NET results in the mail today. My composite percentage was 80 and my composite percentile was 96. I ranked in the 92 percentile for Independent Reading Level.

After I read the results, I called the LPN program I really want to attend. It is the only evening/weekend program around here, so it's all I've got if I want to go to nursing school. They said they received my results yesterday and the director was VERY IMPRESSED! They were sending me out a contract for the next part time class. YEAH!

WOOHOO!! :balloons: Congrats! :biggringi

Congrats L&D 2 b!!!!! What book did you use to study from, what was the test like, do they allow the use of calculators and how long before you found out your results? I know a lot. I am applying in the Fall and I should be ready to test for the NET then.

I used the NET study guide. I had to get it direct for the company who makes it because it is sold out everywhere. You don't have to get the book, but I would. The practice tests are identical to the real thing. It really helped to lessen my anxiety because I knew exactly what to expect. Anyway, the book cost $30 and you can get it at: http://www.eriworld.com. You can also buy this book off of ebay, but they seem to costs just as much as if you would have ordered it new from the company.

No, you cannot use calculators. I was real nervous about the math section, but it wasn't bad at all. The test starts out real easy with adding, subtracting, multiplication and division. Then it moves on to decimals, fractions and basic algebra. The NET study guide really helps to "brush up" on these skills.

I took the paper version and it took two weeks to get my scores in the mail (there is also a computer version out there with instant results).

Good luck and let me know if I can be of any further assistance.

I am so happy for you! I am taking the NET on the 28th...any words of advice!!! :balloons:

Thanks L&D 2 B !!!!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I took the NET twice...Math I got 98%...but I hate the English part...How did you prepare for it? Please give me tips...I'm taking NET on March 24th. Please help!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

by the way do you remember the passage you received for the English comprehension? I took the paper version twice...now i'll be taking the computer version. it's 3 parts--math, reading and writing skills. I'm just worried about the reading. I bought the book also, when I do the practise tests..I'm getting it all right but the real test...God..I just can't seem to make it!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I used that study guide for the english part as well. I don't think I would have fully understood or did well on that part had I not studied that section in the book real well.

My test only had a timed reading test on it and the passages that you had to read and then tell them the main idea, etc. I think the main idea ones were the easiest because they were the first sentence of the passages read:) The first sentence always gives the main idea of the paragraph.

Do you have the study guide? If so, how are you doing on the practice tests? I thought those were real similiar to the real thing.
