I passed NCLEX (265 questions) 42 SATAs, 9 ECG strips, 6 exhibits

Published

I sat my NCLEX today, May 9th, 2018. I thought if I passed my NCLEX then I'd post my resources. I did the PVT, I couldn't believe I got the "good pop up"

1. Saunders Comprehensive Review for the NCLEX-RN® Examination, 7th Edition

  • This was my foundation for med-surg
  • I did not buy the book, my friend sent it to me. I can send it to you too if you want, you can download it to your iBooks. I did all the exams in there too, my results were not the best.:happy:

2. Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment, 4th Edition (Practice Exercises for the NCLEX exam) - This is by Linda A. LaCharity, Ph.D., RN, Candice K. Kumagai, MSN, RN and Barbara Bartz, MN, ARNP, CCRN

  • This book, I swear by it! If not for this book, I wouldn't have been able to answer prioritization questions like: first, immediately, most important, priority - those kinds of words.
  • This book also helped me with the delegation for the LPN/LVN and NPA. I used to struggle a lot with role assignments.
  • I had a lot of prioritization questions (like one after another!)

3. Nurselabs - Nurseslabs - For All Your Nursing Needs

  • FREE 3,500+ QUESTIONS!
  • Answer all the questions and you will get used to answering loads of questions even if you get 265 questions in the NCLEX. I recommend doing it in "practice mode" when doing the questions. It gives you the rationales right away after you click on your answer. I definitely recommend this!
  • I finished my exam in 5 hours and could not believe it!

4.YOUTUBE videos from RegisteredNurseRN - RegisteredNurseRN

- YouTube

  • I would usually listen to her at night to refresh my med-surg. She goes into detail and most importantly, she highlights NCLEX bullets!
  • If I get frustrated with my scores when doing practice exams, I usually go to her youtube videos and listen to a particular topic that I think I need to brush my knowledge on. I recommend this for people like myself who are auditory and visual learners.
  • You can also go to her blogs Registered Nurse RN | Free NCLEX Review, Care Plans, RN Salary - very helpful, hands down!

I wish everyone the very best of luck! It's okay to be nervous. I swear I felt like I was a wandering kid after coming out of the testing center. I think I did well on the first 75 questions but I did not stop there, I did all 265 questions. I had 42 SATAs, 9 ECG strips, 6 exhibits (yes, I was tallying during my exam, LOL!) but I think I did not do very well on the last parts of my exam. Questions became really hard and I know I kept getting them wrong because I kept getting "knowledge-based questions". It was like a downhill, so I thought I was gonna fail but I passed!

Good luck! :)

Hi! Thanks! SATA were difficult but there were easy ones too, they are like knowledge-based SATA.

I am not sure about PN, but I guess if you read the book, it will give you just the same concept of delegation. Point is, you know who does what in terms of role assignments. This book also teaches you how to prioritize, I think it's a must have.

when did you check your PVT? I have similar exam experience but my pvt status still not available.

I did not buy the book, my friend sent it to me. I can send it to you too.

Will u kindly give it to me pls..really appreciate your kindness.

RNBSN1Z - I checked it 6 hours after I finished my exam but I know some people checked on their PVT 2 hours after and it worked for them. I just didn't want to check it too early as it may give me false results.

@Globalpizza - send me your email :)
