I passed--I am not losing it anymore

I passed---i feel so much better knowing that all that hard work paid off.

i also got a job offer today---i have not decided yet--i am going to think about it over the weekend.

Way to go! Passing the NCLEX is a big step toward a rewarding career...... I always tell student nurses that if I can do it, then they can do it ;).

Bein cautious about choosing that first job is OK. I started right out of school working for a place that I found was just not what I wanted to do. Within a couple of weeks, I was offered a position as a float nurse that was very cool...... arrive a bit before 3 PM and find out where you will work that shift (possibly part of a shift in one area, then the rest in another area). That gave me experience in a lot of skills and departments, helping me to decide what I wanted to do later on. When the hospital disbanded the float pool (we had RN's LPN's, CNA's and Unit Secretaries), I transferred to the ICU.

Many years later, I am at a different hospital, and am a part of the eeeeeeeeeeeeevil administration; actually the admin team is a great group and the entire staff is a joy to work with. I am honored to work with such an outstanding group of professionals...... and to think it all began when I was running EMS calls with a very special lady who is also a Nursing Instructor - she encouraged me to do a career change at 40 years old and go back to school for a degree in Nursing.

The opportunities in Nursing are only limited by the boundaries we place upon ourselves.

Now get out there and kick booty. :cool:
