I need your opinion

Hi everyone! I would like current Nursing students to tell me what I need to prepare before I start the Nursing Program. I have been accepted to the Cerritos Colelge Spring 11 class , and my orientation is not till November. I have been advised to take some classes in Fall to prepare and I was wondering what other things I need to prepare.

Should I take the BLS class now? is that the only certification I need?

I am pretty sure I will hear this in Orientation, but I don't want to be too stressed out in the end of the year. So now would be a good time to start and get everything out of my way. I will take 3 classes in the Fall that are recommended for the program, but not mandatory. What else do I need to prepare?

thanks in advance.

All schools have different requirements of what is needed. Unless someone chimes in from your exact school, it is best to get the info from them or on their website. I found a checklist of immunizations on my school's website. You could do fingerprint card, immunizatioins along with your cpr. My school required we do it and pay on our own prior to program not sure that all programs are that way. Also some programs require CNA certification where mine did not.
