EC already reveiwed my transcript, I only need a&p II, micro, sociology and math plus info lit. I just can't seem to get the ball rolling, my plan was to start a&p II with straighterline, then micro, after that clep sociology then leave math for for a later time. I only work 22 hrs a week at an ASL, and stay home with my 7mths old during the week and my 6 yrs old in school during the day. Some time it seem the day goes by so fast and I don't see what I did during the day, and at bed time I m beata and just want to crawl into bed. I m starting to get mad at myself, I feel like I've wasted enough time already....

I understand... it took me a while to get going after EC reviewed mine... almost a year! Your plan looks really good... another person on here, Natnat, just did A & P II using Straighterline... look for her posts... she even found a coupon online for the first class free! Others have used CLEP for Sociology and recommend it... (I did CLEP for Human Growth & Development)... A good way to do the Math is ALEKS, I did their College Level Beginning Algebra. Micro... I just started studying, and will do that exam through EC. Info Lit... Penn Foster... cheap and easy!!
It must be difficult, with kids and working... but just START... one at a time... you CAN DO IT!!! :)

If you can just get one down that will give you a push! A couple hours a day, or even stick 1 or 2 pages of your study guide in your pocket to carry around and look at when you get a chance - YOU CAN DO IT!!!!
thank for the kind word, I was able to find a pdf format of an a&p book online as of today I m going to start studying the chapters. I m going to check natnat post out, it would be awesome to get first class free. My goal it to be ready for cpne by end of 2013 if God willing..
9mths later, completed micro with a B- and about to finish a&p2 and sociology next week at a community college. Excelsior is still on my mind.....
GREAT!! Keep up the good work. One at a time... just keep going!!
Since my last post, I have completed Micro and the first 4 Nursing exams... #5 Saturday. Back to the books!! :)

That is awesome Barbaram, my spouse really want me to do excelsior but the cpne really intimidate me..I know it's silly to think about cpne when I haven't even start taking the nursing test...did you use the recommended book, any tips or study material you want to share.........
Hey! You're doing great!! Keep up the good work... getting the pre-reqs out of the way before enrolling is a good way to go... you can even take the Transitions exam before enrolling. One step at a time!! Yes, it can be overwhelming to think of the entire program... but just keep up the momentum!!
I have a Foundations of Nursing book, a Med Surg study guide, a Mosby's Nursing Diagnosis book, various Study Group 101 disks (for 3 Nursing exams) and also a full set of College Network binders I found on Ebay very cheap. Still need to pick up a few more text books. I would never use just ONE source... I like the variety! Also... PRACTICE EXAMS.... every time!! Yes, I am also intimidated by the CPNE, but there are lots of great resources we can use when it is time... the people here are SO supportive and provide tons of great information!!
Finished the 5th exam Saturday, have the last 3 paid for and scheduled...
GOOD LUCK to you!!
Barbara
I have a medsurge book and fundamental book a friend who finish the bsn program gave me and I will be searching all over the net for other books and will invest on sg 101 notes or any other free study material I can find. I have a good nursing diagnosis book I need to dust off. Approx how many hrs total you've spend studying for each test you've taking so far. I know everybody study differently I m just asking.

Don't be afraid of the CPNE. Excelsior tells you EXACTLY how they want it done.
Sounds like you are doing great! I have been scheduling about 1 exam per month, and that seems to work well for me. I work M,T,W nights and rarely have any study time during those nights... or days.. I cram on Th,F, Sa,Su! I don't really know the number of hours.... just seem to put in more time as it gets closer... sometimes 8 hours a day.
Good luck to you!
