I need HELP upon choosing for a good NLE review center in Manila

Published

Hi everyone! I graduated Nursing last 2009 and was not able to take the board exam due to financial reasons. I am planning to take the exam this December and I would like to know if anyone of you here could tell me which review centers should I consider to enroll to. I am not familiar with Review Centers in Manila and I really need help.

I want a review center that focuses on student's progress in studies; and the one that is not over populated :uhoh3:. And I have been reading blogs, comments, etc. about review centers and I just can't choose one. :uhoh3: I am starting to review my notes now and I need a review center that could enhance my knowledge because to tell you honestly, I am not good in Anatomy, and was just an average during my Nursing school days. I am having a hard time focusing on my studies  and I am not that good at memorizing normal values  .

So please guys, I need your help. Please give me feed backs of the review centers in Manila, how they handle their students, and how they motivate them. :D

Thank you so much. Your replies will be of great help.:yeah:

i could recommend ASCEND, near UST Dapitan. because all the reviewers are UST profs, they are the best :) i reviewed there for the Local boards only, but i was able to use the lectures i had with them to pass NCLEX. Their discussions retained in my mind till i had my nclex :)

Have you seen some of the videos taken during Final coaching? There are some in youtube. See them first before you enroll with those review centers. Good luck.

MERGE - Very rude staff, fairly competent instructors

SRG - FAIL

St Louis - Excellent program

Rachell Allen Reviewers, USA - Outstanding program, the NLE lecturers are top notch and the program is brand new with all new sourced material and the latest information.

Center for Excellence in Nursing Education (CENE) - In my opinion one of the absolute best and highly under-rated. This center is primarily a research and educational development center. Other schools hire them to develop the curriculum for local board!

R.A. Gapuz - Core review is strong and they have a good number of passers, I feel that the final coaching is a bit overdone and overpopulated though.

Pentagon - Terrible overcrowding. Don't believe their passing rate, they play with the numbers big time.

Don't pay more for final coaching. get together with friends and share study notes. I've been to dozens of final coaching sessions and NOTHING NEW is gone over. Everything is just going over the notes, going over sample tests, etc.

There is a local board informatics system that CENE developed which can help in that area.

Those are all the local board review centers that I have personal contact and experience with.

thanks a lot..you're a great help :bow::bow:..i'll take note of what you have said.. I am actually answering my cousin's n-clex reviewer for the mean time and I am so looking forward to enhance my knowledge since I graduated last year and I really do need help with my review soon..

An NCLEX reviewer is good for core knowledge, but remember that the testing structure is different for NLE than NCLEX. Also when you are responding to NLE the responsibilities of a nurse are slightly different than for NCLEX and a correct answer for NCLEX can be a wrong answer for NLE.

I agree with kaplanbaby. Ascend is a very good if not excellent review center. They don't just teach you the right answers but they also tell you WHY it is the correct answer.

north cap santa mesa.. one of d best...

try PRS in dapitan near UST (just across...hehe). It's the building where "Wok with me restaurant" is located. The professors there are from UST. You'll have almost the same type of review with the thomasian nurses. :)

Try Review Center for Allied Proffessions (RCAP) They have been making Board examinee passers for 27 years now. They only have around 100 per room, its kinda big but compared to cinema setting or hotel setting review centers this is small. All reviewers there are from UP, but you really have to review at your own if you don't have class that day. Try your best not to rely only on the Reviewers.

all review centers are good. what i did i bought review materials from bookstore, like gapuz, carl balita, bersabe. i read those books for how many times for three months at home. I did self review. I took BSN at the age 45 then I passed the local board exam. I save money, time and enjoying reading books at home. Pray always.

Hi. Im a graduate of fatima university and I can say that i do have a good foundation when it comes to nursing, but im not really into memorizing those normal values, pathognomonic signs and nursing laws. But based on my experience during my review in TOP RANK REVIEW ACADEMY, i realize you dont need to memorize but be familiar to everything, practice some nle past board, understand the NLE questions carefully and never leave your common sense. Dont worry, you'll be surprise how easy the board exam. now, i am proud to say that i am a Registered Nurse. Goodluck!

Yeah. surrender everything to God.

At the Toprank we've thought a single subject not just once but three or four times. its their way to strengthen your knowledge. they also conduct two pre board examination, first was at 2 weeks after the first class and last is on the last day of the review( 2 or 3 days before board exam). and the fun part of the review was the Last day, the Grand day!! its like a distressing from all the stress you gained from the review.
