I need some help with statistics

I am struggling with statistics! The text used is awful and does not explain in enough detail. I watch you tube videos on all of the subjects, cohorts etc and I am sinking. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated since I can not do any other classes till I finish this one and term ends Jan15. I do have my required credits done for term this is a class SM brought up to do in this term.

I don't know if you can access CourseCompass without your school being affiliated with it, BUT that's the only reason I passed Statistics. I love their format. I ended up with a B in that class. It is like $90 though. I would happily pay that money again to make sure I passed it. Check it out and see if you can use it as a resource.

where do I find course compass??

can not access it

:( I'm sorry. The only other thought then would be, does your school offer a free math lab with tutoring assistance? I would definitely utilize that as a resource if it's available to you.

Perhaps you are overthinking the course? In spite of my prior struggles with math (10+ years without ever being able to pass a remedial or developmental math course), I was able to pass WGU's statistics course.

It contains no calculations, number-crunching, or real math. It consists of concepts and definitions, nothing more. All you need is a cut score of 61 to pass.

A book called 'Head First Statistics' helped me. Good luck to you.

We had a ton of calculations and number crunching in my Stats class. Maybe it varies depending on school?

Ah, well, flash cards maybe since there's no calculations?

Yep. I utilized flash cards to memorize the various definitions. I also took endless notes and visited other colleges' websites to browse their web pages on elementary statistics.

I second Kahn academy, a tutor, and possibly looking into getting a better textbook. Prior to statistics, I had a difficult time passing algebra 1 in high school, granted that was 9-10 years prior, but still it's always been a difficult subject for me. I had the highest grade in my statistics class at the end of the term (95%) which is insane if you know how hard I have always struggled with math. BUT statistics is different, it has a clear cut explanation for the way it does things, it's formulas, and formulas are hard to mess up if you know where to plug the numbers in. Statistics, like most math, also builds upon itself. If you do not understand the first lesson, you will never understand the last. For me, statistics was so much easier, because there is no guessing game, all the information you need to find the answer is in the question! If you so far behind at this point you are failing, you may want to consider re-taking it, but if you really dig in and try to understand it from the first lesson, and go from there, then you may have a chance. I really struggle with Chem, I withdrew my first time through, and now I am tutoring for it now even though it doesn't start till spring semester. I had to step away from it for a bit because I was so frustrated I was just confusing myself even more
