I am struggling with statistics! The text used is awful and does not explain in enough detail. I watch you tube videos on all of the subjects, cohorts etc and I am sinking. Ant advice would be greatly appreciated since I can not do any other classes till I finish this one and term ends Jan15. I do have my required credits done for term this is a class SM brought up to do in this term.

Specializes in Allergy/ENT, Occ Health, LTC/Skilled.

I second Kahn academy, a tutor, and possibly looking into getting a better textbook. Prior to statistics, I had a difficult time passing algebra 1 in high school, granted that was 9-10 years prior, but still it's always been a difficult subject for me. I had the highest grade in my statistics class at the end of the term (95%) which is insane if you know how hard I have always struggled with math. BUT statistics is different, it has a clear cut explanation for the way it does things, it's formulas, and formulas are hard to mess up if you know where to plug the numbers in. Statistics, like most math, also builds upon itself. If you do not understand the first lesson, you will never understand the last. For me, statistics was so much easier, because there is no guessing game, all the information you need to find the answer is in the question! If you so far behind at this point you are failing, you may want to consider re-taking it, but if you really dig in and try to understand it from the first lesson, and go from there, then you may have a chance. I really struggle with Chem, I withdrew my first time through, and now I am tutoring for it now even though it doesn't start till spring semester. I had to step away from it for a bit because I was so frustrated I was just confusing myself even more
