I was graduated in Europe/ Slovakia/ in 1984 and worked 17 years as a RN .I came to US/2008/ because I got married and I would like to know where I have to start to do my licence here. Is anybody here who can help me?

I am confused about CGFN. Anyway I have green card ,SS and at this time I am working as a STNA/CNA in Ohio.

Iwould like to know is TOEFL test has any limitation ? Also CGFGN ?

Since you live in Ohio, call the board of nursing, they will guide you in the process.

As you are already aware, Ohio requires two additonal items for nurses educated outside the US in order to be eligible to take the NCLEX-RN for licensure. These are (1) Full Education Course-by-Course Report which you can obtain from CGFNS by accessing their website (http://www.cgfns.org/sections/programs/ces/) and (2) a passing score on the TOEFLiBT (http://www.ets.org/portal/site/ets/menuitem.1488512ecfd5b8849a77b13bc3921509/?vgnextoid=f968af5e44df4010VgnVCM10000022f95190RCRD&vgnextchannel=6cd6197a484f4010VgnVCM10000022f95190RCRD). The specifics of both requirements are on the website links. If you have any particular questions regarding these, it's probably best to direct them to the above agencies involved.

NY does not require TOEFLiBT but they do require Full Course-by-course Report from CGFNS. You can send all your applications at the same time, you just wouldn't receive your Authorization to Test until all required documents have been received by the BON. Do you want to work in NY instead of OH?

NY requires CGFNS-CVS. You can apply online or send the application with payment to their office. It's better if you wait for the result of your CGFNS-CVS before applying for NY BON. Usually it takes 3-6 months for your credential verifications. Call them for sure answer. Good luck.

I have one more question.Is it NCLEX test in every state different or is same ?

The NCLEX is nationally standardized -- it is the same in every state and, once you have taken and passed it, any US state will accept your results and you don't have to take it again if you apply for licensure in another state in the future.
