Name that nursing task.
I love nursing (well, being a cna) but I don't have the time to...
re-adjust your pillow and hand you your water sitting right net to you (pt. is completely auto...)
Sit and talk with my patients instead of trying not to seem rushed to care for them and hurry to my next patient...
change the tv station when the remote is in the pts. hand
be yelled at because the hospital cafeteria closes at 0300 and your hungry at 0430 and don't want what we have in the unit fridge...
keep coming in the room to replace telemetry patches when you pull them off to get attention...
I have the time (most shifts anyway) to give a short back massage (promotes circulation, feels nice, relaxing before bed, less skin breakdown...) but not give you a full blown body massage...

Too busy to go to the gym on a regular basis..... sheesh.
I was going to say this one except mine would be, go to the gym "at all". Also too busy to get those FREE massages they offer us as a benefit at work. Can you believe that? Also too busy to:
1) sleep 8 hrs on my days off
2) keep up with the laundry/housework/cleaning
3) eat right. My eating habits have gone down the toilet since I started nursing! It used to be salads, ice tea, fish and broccoli, now it's a Snickers bar and soda at 3am. Gah!

I love being a nurse, but I just dont have the time....to be a:
pharmacist
phlebotomist
social worker
Respiratory Therapist
Discharge planner
psychologist
customer service representative
dietary aid
maid
secretary
supply tech
physical/occupational therapist
private duty nurse to an emotional rather than medical needy patient
staff scheduling specialist
or be a DOORMAT
AS WELL, as being a "nurse"... have I forgotten anything?

Our CNA's are too bussy too... Often even more so, than we are, if that's even humanly possible. Darn staffing anyway :angryfire
