I feel like burning most the LVN review books I bought as they did me no good what-so-ever on the NCLEX. The questions I got came out of left field. Stuff that wasn't taught in school like post mordum care for jewish men and questions about the Buhdist faith. I couldn't believe the questions I got. It felt like I guessed at half the questions. What a terrible feeling I have now. I have went threw the ENTIRE Saunders LNV review book and cd TWICE, that's 6,000 questions, as well as the kaplan review book, "lvn made easy", and the mosby cd. Total review questions and rationales done exceeded 8,000. Yet it didn't help me at all. Yes I read the rationales for ALL the questions/ answers. The NCSBN.ORG review was the only thing that helped me as the questions were similar to the NCLEX.
The VAST majority of question were priority questions. I had learned all the tricks to answer these in the Kaplan book. Only one big problem....the priority questions in kaplan are a complete joke (very easy) compared to the actual NCLEX ones which were brutal.
My computer shut off at 85 and I am positive I got the 85th question wrong because I looked it up when I got home. I hear if the computer stops at 85 and you miss the last question ...you most likely failed if you weren't doing so hot. I wanted to throw up when I left the testing center.
So hear I sit and have to wait 3 weeks to get result in CA. I will start checking the LVN board website next week, but I have a bad feeling my name won't be up there and I will have to take the NCLEX again.
I was that way to! During my test I was so nervous I could't think straight. After my test I had to drive an hour home by myself, I cried off and on when I finally did get home, I was hugging the toilet bowel for about 30 mins. It was horrible. Don't know what was worse the test or waiting almost a month. Still no results. Good luck to u and let us know how u do!
I got my mail today nothing. I'm so tired of waiting. Have u heard of anyone passing after taking the whole test? Everyone that has taken it so far stopped at 85 and they all passed. But I'm really worried cause I did take all 205. Any info would be great.
Supposedly, the number of questions can't tell you much. The only "generally true" thing I've heard is stopping at a low number means you passed. (Unless you missed them all!) Don't fret! The statistic to keep in mind while you're waiting is that most people pass. And if it's any indication, people on allnurses.com generally worry like crazy, as did I.
Hang in there!

My friend took his last week tues day it stopped at 205 he wouldnt talk to anyone for two days, Thankfully he passed! I took my test Sat it stopped at 85, still waiting fot my quick results, i'm nervous though. I had a lot of select all and i've been hearing that is a good thing.
Well i just took the test and i went all the way to 205.. I should of never checked this board..lol I was like ok here comes 85.. Then passed that and i already knew i was not prepared. I finished school in July and procrastinated. So many things come up when you support a finance, and a 3 year old.. But no excuse i got the papers to test and i was like lets do it in 7 days.. No way could i get ready in time. I only really studied 2 days... Full days.. I bought the Fyres 3300 book, did not help to much. People said it would.. Nope. I study alone and always ace test if i study the night before but this was way to much info. I got a lot of prioritizing. Which is the most....essential...first...important.. Few math i got all right.. Then lots of meds.. MY weakness.. I already work in the field so that helped. Already took a position. But not untill next year.. So i already am studying for the retake. At least i know whats to come.. Dont believe anything the boards or people tell you. I took 205 questions... I know people who passed on taking all question and the min wich here in cali is 85... I know that the only thing is this test is somthing i have never took before.. Basically its everything nothing tricky nothing hard just everything from everywhere. I know i saw some of my results by mistake when leaving... Pass..Pass...Pass...Pass... But i know i did not pass everything... Next time i we be laughing because i will be prepared.... And not looking at the time and # of question im on....lol
Hype kills it. We should enjoy this moment! Its practice and we just started. Mistakes are made to happen to make the future more understanding! Thanks!:monkeydance:
I wish everyone good luck and I hoped that those whom are awaiting their results passed! Just remember, you did the best that you could do. It's all in God's hands now. Also remember that we're human, we make mistakes, and if we don't pass, we can take it again. I will send a prayer to all of you on the forum. And to those who already passed the NCLEX-PN, I congratulate you.... :):):)
Just relax. I took it Nov. 21 and I got all 205 questions and it took almost a month to get my results. I finally got them and it was bad news. I failed it. I had 8 topics they graded me on and I was below on one and I failed. I was so bummed out. I cried then I was angry but what can you do! I sent out my money to retest the day I got my results. They say it can take 3 weeks to receive ur ATT. I just want to hurry up and retest. Well, good luck!!!
I took mine on November 26th, had 205 questions and failed. Although I have a friend who took hers the first time, had 205 questions and failed, but on the 2nd try had 205 and passed. I got my performance report from NCBON and I was close to passing in all 8 categories. I was sick, but also excited that I was not below in any of the areas. I have taken the month of December off from studying, an gonna repay my $ next month and shoot for again. I'm not gonna give up, gonna keep taking it until I pass! Best of luck to all of you!
