Hi everyone. I have never posted here before but today I have some good (make that GREAT) news!!!
I got accepted to Nassau Community College's evening nursing program! They only accept about 35 people so I was VERY nervous!
Well, I just wanted to share my news! I look forward to being on this website a lot more often now. :)
It depends, darl. I've heard of people getting in with a 3.4/3.5 or so, but they accept from a new pool of applicants every semester so it really depends on what the GPAs look like. If you have a huge pool of 3.9s, it's going to be harder to get in. If the pool's average GPA is lower, it may be easier.
I had a 3.93 when I was accepted.
thank you for the answer , what are the perequisites that you need to take to get in the nursing program at NCCC . I am actually at laguardia community college , i took anatomy number 1 . that actually messed me up , i got a D- that is like a F+ lol and it is not passing for science courses . To retake that class at laguardia , i have to ask permission to take it . i am not sure they would me take it again . They make it so hard at laguardia , even though they let me take it over , they won't erase the D- .it will be always included in my GPA and my transcript , that is hard it is at laguardia ,. so im thinking of tranfering at NCCC and not transferring the D- like it never happened and retake it at NCCC. My major is actually liberal arts math and sciences . But im trying to take some courses that i think might be useful for the nursing major . Can i please get some advices what other perequisites courses should i take before i transfer to NCCC . Will it beneficial if i take some other courses that are not included in the nursing courses like elective .
So far i have taking ENG 101 i got a A , and general psychology i got a A in that one also . In the short winter session i will be taking ENG 102 and developmental psychology . thank you
well so far with the electives you are good. However, with nassau you can only repeat AnP twice..Now, I am not sure if you taking AnP counts as one time. Also, it may not be a transferable creidt..So, if I was you I would call the nursing office to verify that..Look on the website for NCC and do your research..I understand sometimes you like to hear it from the horses mouth..However, when you do your own research you become better familiar with the differences of school and it sticks in your head. Good Luck!! and dont give up!! every semester of applicants are different..Try to get that A if you cant B+ is fine.. Those who may have 3.9's may only have the four required courses which are...AnP I, Eng 101, Psy 101, Math..The applicant who has most of the courses completed will be chosen over all..
ok thank you very much . I only took ANP once , i am aware that i can only take that class twice at NCC. I am confident next time i will get good grade on it .i know the mistakes that i made before , i take too many classes with it , i should have taken alone so i could have more time to study . i know it won't be transferable that is why i said if i am transferring to NCC , i won't transfer it because a D- is like having a F . Nursing214 what math is required at NCC for the nursing program ?
