don't be so sure. 8th on the list is not that bad at all. In my class...started this semester we had about ten people who were wait listed start withus. Because it is not uncommon for people to apply to more than one program, several people turn down the acceptance to go to another progrom. Remember as Rocky said, "it ain' ova till it's ova";)

Hey, Mex!
Thanks for the support :) What I didn't mention is the fact that it's a very small class of 10 people. Because it's in Alaska, most of the people who apply have families and obligations, they don't really pick up and move to other places for school.
But you are right! We'll see what happens but I'm not going to hold my breath :)

Well...I actually got a phone call. Due to illness, the letters have not been sent yet.The news was disappointing but not unexpected. I didn't make it in

I'm 8th on the waiting list so no nursing school for me right now! While not getting in wasn't unexpected, I didn't expect to be so far down on the wait list!! I am missing a few classes that count for points (my school runs on a total point system) but will have all those done by the end of this semester.
Oh well... I'll apply again in 2 years. The school starts a new cohort every 2 years. I have a 9.9 on the NET, a good gpa, and will have all the required classes done that earn points. The only thing I won't be able to get is an extra point for being an LPN!
Good luck to everybody still waiting :)

Hi I am new to the site so I may have missed this, but you can only apply every 2 years?? Why is that??
Wow!!! I am at Arizona State and we can apply twice a year, but it is so competitive here. The lowest GPA they took last semester was a 3.8, they have about 300-400 applicants a semester and only 150 seats. So then what do you do for 2 years?? Just wait? Do you have to be enrolled in classes for the full 2 years while you're waiting?

3.8 was the average ASU took in last application period; 3.53 was the lowest gpa they took
