WELL, BASICALLY THE WHOLE STORY IS, I WORKED AT THE LOCAL HOSPITAL AS A NUSING ASSISTANT FOR A YEAR AND RECENTLY GOT FIRED FOR FALLING ASLEEP AT WORK (NIGHT SHIFT) I WAS CAUGHT BY A NURSE AND SHE TOLD MANAGEMENTAND NOW I AM SUSPENDED UNTIL MONDAY. I REALLY NEED MY JOB!! I NEEDD A CAR AND A APARTMENT. I HOPE TO GET A JOB AT ANOTHER HOSPITAL IN THE AREA. I FEEL DOWN IN THE DUMPS RIGHT NOW. THEN EVERYONE IS GOING TO LOOK DOWN ON ME. I WILL STILL TAKE PRE- REQS TOWARDS MY LPN DEGREE IN HOPES THAT I WILL FIND A NEW JOB WITH BENEFITS. I LIVE HERE IN HARRISBURG IF ANYONE CAN HELP ME!! THANKS IN ADVANCE :cry:
Your info says that you work in a cardiac/telemetry unit. Sleeping on the job would be serious on any floor, but is even more so on a cardiac floor. As Suesquatch said, I'm concerned that you do not seem to understand how serious an error this was. Sometimes it is not only the mistake that you make, but the attitude that you have about it, how you handle the consequences and what you learn from it that makes the difference. Genuine acceptance of personal responsibility and a sincere desire to do better goes a long way with employers. I wish you luck.
