I got accepted into Thomas Edison State, has anyone else been accepted for fall 2015

Published

Good evening everyone, I got accepted into the accelerated nursing program for Thomas Edison State College for the fall 2015 semester. Can anyone please tell me about the program, I would appreciate it. I'm also thinking about relocating to Trenton for the year until I finish school. If anyone knows any good locations in Trenton please let me know, thank you.

Deeninnurse try asking on the admissions FB page. They'll get you an answer. Theyve been very helpful so far.

Hi mbaham85 , I sent you the email already.

I'm so glad I found this thread - there is not much information on TESC compared to many other programs here! I am accepted into the program as well, I had my interview in April and was conditionally accepted pending finishing 2 of my prereqs.

I am planning on commuting from South Jersey (Ocean City area) which is an hour and 20 and makes me nervous but just bought a house last year so financially can't afford to pay my mortgage and get another apartment. I'm hoping I don't regret that.

I went a little facebook stalker and PM'd some of the current year's students that were linked to on the schools page. One student responded and was very helpful but said it was incredibly draining and stressful. Must keep an 80 average and grades are basically exams and then clinical is pass/fail. She said some weeks are better than others and like professors but they definitely don't hold your hand.

Hope this helps. I think we're definitely going to need to lean on each other and study together to survive!

As far as the interview, mine was just me not a group. 4 or 5 members of the nursing department. It was longer, about 45 minutes or so. They asked why I was interested in the program, how I handle stress, why they should choose me for the program, strengths/weaknesses, etc. I did notice they changed their normal deadline from June 1 to July 1, which makes me think they didn't have enough accepted students at the time so would guess they are still looking for several spots to fill and that should help your chances!

Hi Netsrik,

thank you you for that information. Do you know if the exams are based mainly on powerpoints or the book? Also, the information that's discussed in class, will that be on the exam? Some teachers give exams and the material that's covered in class is not on the exam.

Thank you

Hi there, I didn't get that specific about exam content with her. She was super busy and kind enough to respond so didn't want to overwhelm with too many questions. If i hear anything more, I will post here for sure.

Also, this is probably too soon but as I mentioned, I can't relocate and get an apartment full time because I have a mortgage to pay. I'm already thinking ahead to options for not driving in inclement weather or if need a break some days from the commute.

has anyone heard anything that applied around the end of June?

I applied July 1st (applied June 24 and got all my documents in that last week). Called and emailed to check the status a few times in July. Finally heard back end of July to set an interview. Interviewed last week and got in.

They rejected my appeal for Chemistry (my last course was 2009 Organic Chem II), so I'm not in after all. Good luck guys!

How was your experience with the program? I am looking into it and would like to know insight from someone who's been in the program.

Am a registered psychiatric nurse in Uganda, Africa. Planning how to practice my profession in the USA. Any clues dear colleagues? Registration, NCLEX, work permits etc.... Thanks abunch.
