I received my acceptance letter today!! It's the LPN program and you can then bridge into the RN program the sophomore year as long as you meet the requirements! It's very competitive with over 350 people who apply to both programs and only 60 are accepted (30 for LPN and 30 for RN) so I am SUPER excited!!! I do have questions about the vaccinations though as the letter was a little unclear. They require the PPD the first week of August, but also go on to say we need 2 doses of MMR, tetorifice, 3 doses Hep. B and chicken pox. If I've had these during my childhood do I still need to get them again? I'm calling the health department to get a copy of my immunizations but was just curious what you guys thought? YAY!!!!!

If you can't provide proof of vaccination from your vaccination record then you will have to get a titer to prove immunization.
Congrats on your acceptance!!!

What meib92 said. Program requirements may differ by school, but from what I've seen, most will accept proof of vaccination for MMR, tetorifice (within ten years), & varicella, some require HepB titers to be done even if you can prove completion of the series, especially if it was finished over ten years ago, and many will make you show or several years of TB tests, or a 2-step in the last year.

Congratulations!
If your campus has a student clinic, I would go and talk to them. In my program, we have to get a healthcare professional to fill out a form documenting proof of immunizations (if immunizations are relatively old, or were never done (I never had a varicella vac, but I had chickenpox as a kid), we have to get titers). I did it all at my university's student clinic.

Congrats! And while you may very well have proof of vaccinations, my personal take on it is to get titers drawn to provide a proof of immune status. You may have had the Hep series, for instance, but not have "taken" on the immunity. Same with MMR: I've seen people with records of vaccination who do NOT have appropriate immunity....and bottom line is if you're exposed, it's YOU who's gotta suffer the consequences of that. Unless you're looking forward to getting mumps or measles, which are making an unfortunate comeback?
Anyway....best of luck to you!!
