Well all, I thought I'd let you know that you'll be acquiring a new Tennessee GN in May! :) I'm moving there from PA, and have accepted at job at the University of Tennessee Medical Center! I start on either May 31st or June 27th, whichever orientation group I'm in. The Nurse Recruiter called me and said the heads of the departments will be contacting me- and already this morning Jean Fitzgerald, the head of the Pulmonary Step-Down Unit has offered me a 7p-7a job (and yes, I wanted nights! haha).
Does anyone work at that facility and tell me a little more about anything there? And if anyone has any ideas of what apartment complexes are the best, any input would be greatly appreciated!

Congratulations! UTMC is a great hospital. They have done lots of renovations and improvements over the last several years. I have never worked there but have been a patient and have had family members who were patients there over the years. It is the largest hospital in Knoxville. The next largest hospitals are Erlanger in Chattanooga and the one in Johnson City affiliated with ETSU. It is a teaching hospital which I think are very good places to work. I live about 2 hours SE of Knoxville so I don't know the area well. I would venture to say that you would find a better deal on housing the further you get away from the actual UT campus. So, looking in Blount County would probably be best. Good luck!
