When I was in high school, my guidance counselor told me I wasn't "college material". Well......had been out of nursing school 6 months, new RN, in charge this one night 3-11 CCU. Got report from ER---Guess Who???? Well the first thing he asked as he rolled through th doors was, "Who is the nurse in charge?" At that point, I realized all my hard work had paid off!!! Long story short, day three he said he was surprised to see me. Told him I worked hard in college, made the Deans List. Said to him, " I didn't know if I could do it but I had to try. Don't ever shoot down someone's dreams". PS he had had a massive inferior wall infarct.

Hi all. I previously posted a thread in which I stated I was giving up my dream about going to nursing school. The reason was because people kept telling me how hard it was. They had scared me away. But thanks to all the wonderful replys I received I have changed my mind. People here are so helpful and supportive, that everytime I read a reply I had tears in my eyes. People were so incourageing it was amazing. So I want to thank all the wonderful people which helped me see that I can do it. I will go back to school and work my behind off to get into nursing. This is what I want to do, and I won't let no one take that away. I will start slowly cause I do have two children, a home, and a partner. But I will succeed. Thank you to all the wonderful people on here that have helped me.
