mmm,,, I don't know about your program, mine is pretty interesting. Foundation in our program is lecture class. It meant to be more boring than "Intervention" where all the fun stuff happens (trach care, catheterization etc)
It is a science of nursing, I guess. If you do just fine in class I suggest to concentrate on other classes.
If class giving you hard time, then may be change the way you studding...
zzzzzzz ..... .... zzzzz huh what? Yeah, try to like it a little because all that nursing philosophy is gonna keep coming back at you. I really started digging lectures when we got into med-surg and all the diseases. While doing your reading and studying, try to think of questions you might be asked on a test. Do as many of the practice questions as you can. It really is hard to remember material when you are struggling to remain conscious during lecture. Imagine being the nurse you are going to be. It isn't all about connecting tubing and checking drip rates. It's mostly about how you want to treat other humans.

At my school we call it "Foundations" but same class. I'm bored except for when we do science related activities in lab such as vitals (b.p. was fun to me rather than frustrating! On the other hand bed making bores me to freaking tears). That to me is where it's at. I feel blasphemous for saying that I don't give a crap about Florence Nightingale. I miss the science part so badly. We just started writing care plans, and so far I LIKE them. Why? Because we're actually talking diagnoses and diseases and looking for problems and assessing patients.
Just me?
