I finally passed 6th time

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

I have been waiting for a long time to write this posted that i passed.

I just found out this morning that i passed!!!!! I took my boards 3/31/08 and got the result 4/2/08 that I am officially an RN :nurse:. I am sooooooo happy. :yeah::yeah:This was my 6th time taking boards. I got 265 questions and I took my time.

In addition, I met this angel of mine in this forum that cared about when no one did. She believe in, gave me the strength and had faith in me when i did not have faith in myself. She kept a tab on me when none of my friends in nursing school could care less. I believe she was my angel from heaven and owe a BIG THANKS TO HER!!!!:redbeathe

Also, I want to shout out a BIGGER thanks to everyone here. I found the emotional support, stories and caring individuals that help me through this difficult time of my life.

Lastly, I want to personally say "THANK YOU" suzanne for her plan.

AFter the 5th time taking in 11/07, I was lost for words. I did not know what i was going to do. I signed up for HURST but that did not helped me.

I started to study again in jan of 2008 finished the entire saunders book, started using the CD questions, used hurst review for content and lastly some kaplan questions.

So please for repeat test takers---dont ever give up. if i would have given up after 5 times, I would not be a RN as of today. Follow your dreams and dont EVER let anyone tell you anything less.

i am so happy for you, i am doing suzanne's plan also and this is going to be my third time, if you have any tips let us know, i can just imagine your face when you saw PASSED:nurse: !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was going through this site thinking................ I have taken this test sooooooooo ssoooooooo many times and there is hope for me after all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I owe you a big thank you for that................. It is so disappointing to fail this test . I really think anxiety and negative thinkig is getting the best of me. I remember sitting down and just "crying" thinking ... I HAVE TO PASS THIS TEST ....but I dont think I can, or can I or what if I DON'T.................. All those crazy thoughts have entered my head and played " little games " with me. Thank you for your encouraging note here. It really does help. No one would understand unless they have been through this awful experience several times themselves... Please pray for me . I am going to do on Suzannes plan..................

CONGRATULATIONS!

first of all, CONGRATULATIONS !!! NOT JUST PASSING THE NCLEX BUT FOR SO MANY OTHER REASONS. :yeah::yeah::yeah:

CONGRATULATIONS ON:

-PASSING THE BOARDS

-FOR NOT GIVING UP AFTER 1,2,3,4,5 OR 6

-FOR THE COURAGE TO GET UP AND FIGHT FOR YOUR FUTURE

-FOR THE DEDICATION

-AND FOR ALL THE OBSTICLES YOU FACED BECAUSE OF THIS EXAM

YOUR STORY REALLY INSPIRED ME AND HELPED ME TO THINK HOW, HOW MANY TIMES YOU MIGHT HAVE GIVEN UP HOPE, AND HOW MANY TIMES YOU HAVE HAD TO GO THROUGH OBSTICLES IN LIFE B/C OF THIS EXAM. INSPITE ALL THIS, YOU STILL KEPT ON BELIEVING AND I THINK THAT'S WHAT COUNTS!!!

I AM GOING TO TAKE THE EXAM FOR THE 3RD TIME IN MAY AND I AM REALLY REALLY SCARED. I DO NOT WANT TO FAIL AGAIN AND I DO NOT WANT TO GO THROUGH THE PAIN THAT I TOOK FOR THE PAST 6 MONTHS BECAUSE OF THIS EXAM. THERE WERE SO MANY TIMES, I LOST HOPE AND WONDERED WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME & WHAT WILL I DO WITH MY LIFE AND WHEN WILL I BECOME A NURSE WHICH IS MY DREAM!

AFTER READING YOUR STORY, I REALIZED THAT THIS IS ALL JUST A RACE,A TRIAL. EVEN THOUGH, I KEPT FALLING, I SHOULD STILL GET UP AND RUN AND REACH MY GOAL AND WIN THIS RACE (THE NCLEX) JUST LIKE YOU DID!

SO THANKS FOR THE WONDERFUL TESTIMONY THAT YOU SHARED WITH US AND I HOPE IN MAY I'LL COME IN HERE AND WRITE MY VICTORY TOO!!!

Specializes in aged -adolescent.

AWESOME. welcome New RN

Congratulations .this an amazing and inspiring story.

thank you for all the postings. It really feels good to see all the encouraging words!!!!!! :yeah:

for repeat test takers---please DO NOT EVER GIVE UP. EACH and everyone of you went to nursing school. If you can pass nursing school, you can pass boards.

I want to let you guys know this is how i did it: It took me 3 months to study since the last time. I used saunders and read each and every page. I did all the questions at the end of each chapter. Then I complete the CD questions and did Kaplan Q-bank. I did use Hurst review online for my knowledge on Med/Surg.

for my exams, there for Endocrine,---HTN, Addision, Cushing, ped growth and development, pregnancy, immunizations, drug math calculations, PDA, SATA and especially go over herbs (ginger, garlic, black cohosh etc) and infections controls. This is all I can remember. For meds, I did not know how to study for this. What I did was the last week before I test, I did all the meds questions in the saunders CD. I used the Kaplan blue book which has a very good section on meds to study in groups of categories. One last thing, I remember seeing repeat topics of questions such as I got two questions with Addison's. Either they want to make sure I know Addison orI got the question wrong earlier and is giving me a second chance to get it right. What I am saying is just make sure you are aware of this when you are taking the exam.

In addition, I got from another person that send me an attachement on all the medication type out on words. Please send me an PM if you want a copy with your email address.

With the dedication, motivation and persistent, each of you will PASS but you must believe in youself:heartbeat first. Dont let anyone tell you anything less.
