I feel like a failure

:crying2:

I just failed my second nursing class. I know that I am going to be a nurse one day, it just looks impossible right now. I have heard that once you fail two courses that no other nursing school will accept you. I was in my last semester of the Lpn option but it is an ADN program and missed it by 1.94 points. I did great in the clinicals and labs it was just the test. I knew the info I just froze up. I tried to look on the internet about reciving you lpn online if you have done clinical already, but nothing. Any advice, I know that God has a perfect plan for me, I just cant see it right now:cry:

Im sorry to hear about you not passing. But you have to stay positive if you really want to be a nurse your going to have pick yourself up and try again. If you have problems with test anxiety you should look into ways to deal with it. I have never had test anxiety at all but when i took my entrance test exam it really messed me up. I wish you the best. what subjects did you have problems in?

I had trouble in my med surg class.

God absolutely has the "perfect" plan for you. We just sometimes can't see it through our trials. "Be still and know I am God". I know you must know that verse. He will get you through this. Take time out to listen for His voice in your suffering. I failed the NCLEX the first try and was so devastated and embarrassed. This was back in 1986 when you could only take it twice per year and it lasted two full days of testing. I got through it and passed the 2nd time. I was demoted to a nurse aide for six mos. until I passed. My grandfather died two days before the exam and I had no choice but to take it even in my grief.

So, what can I do to help you? I have taught full time PN program and PN/ADN clinicals. What did you have difficulty with? What was your final grade? Yes, nursing schools will take you again or another school may take you. Don't give up. Maybe I can help you in some way. Nursing school is hard. Dont' feel alone because the school I do clinical adjunct just had approx. 15 students out of 6o something withdraw or may fail. We will know after the final. God bless you in your endeavors. :saint:

If you were more than 50 percent into the program, you can try Excelsior for the RN. http://www.excelsior.edu.. Best of luck!

It happened to me before too but I picked myself up because I know I really want to be a nurse. I hope you can do it too. There are a lot of people that are supporting you don't give up.

Well my struggle was with the tests, I learned the info, for ex: my teacher told me that when I study to learn the labs, meds,S/S and what could go wrong, I did that and passed two of the test, the thing that got me was the final, now that came out of nowhere. I was 1.94 points short. I was devastated. Now I have to find another program and pray to god that they let me in. The only thing is I have to travel to get there, because the closest one is 45 miles away. I know that god is taken me through this for a reason, its just right now I dont understand it. You said that you taught school, do you have any tips on how to get in and ways to ace the tests. Because I know that WHEN I GET INTO A SCHOOL:saint: , I will do sooo much better. GOD does everything in his own time. By the way what was the verse of the scripture. Hope to hear from you soon

That is too bad that you failed by such a minute margin. But, that should give you hope because you didn't fail by very much. Why doesn't this school look att that and let you back in next year? What I tell students is that we are always want you to know what you would do in a situation. What you would do FIRST, and also the priorties. PRIORITIZE. yes, you need knowledge but if you get the nursing process (nsg. dx, goals, intervenion, scientific rationale, and evaluation) then you will be fine. I told a student just yesterday in her evaluation that "You get it. You get the nsg. process and you will do fine." What types of questions did you get wrong on the final ie. what part of the nsg. process is your weak point and what body system?

I think I weak point is learning how to study for the test, every teacher is different. Do you have any great pointers, because I know that when I get into another program, I will to very well, because this will never happen again:saint:

Do you do the exercises in the workbook? I always tell the students to do ALL of them. The questions should be similar in context and the material in the workbook from the readings. The more questions you do the better prepared you are for the test. You can't just study content but must learn how to apply it to nursing. Application and analysis is the focal point of nursing so the questions are derived from how to apply the nsg. process to a situation and how to analyze the situation and then analyze (evaluate) what you have done. You need to have the knowledge but then take it one step further to answer the questions. You can also look at NCLEX books but they are too advanced for a beginner. That should help you!:yeah::up:

I will be sure and do that. I will study everyday until I am accepted into a program. Which NCLEX book do you think is best.:wshgrt: I know that god will answer my prayers.
