Retirement is a life goal for me.. But, I probably have 20-30 years ahead of me.  Work is overrated!

And a good goal it is! But just remember that along with being retired usually comes comes being old which of course can have its own issues. Enjoy being young while you can and enjoy the journey!!

But I definitely agree, work is overrated.

Daisy, I feel a connection with you even though our conversations are relatively superficial and our relationship virtual. There's something about the essence of your posts that cause me to take pause and ponder.

"Being old can have its own issues" speaks volumes and I could pontificate prolifically, but just suffice it to say that it's a whole New World, fraught with joys and perils.

I just thank God, The Guardians of the Galaxy, and The Forces That Be that I am experiencing more Integrity than Despair in this stage of my life.

I beg to differ with you and CalioKitty on the premise of work being overrated.

But that's just my opinion.

I agree to a point about work. It definitely has its good points. I guess I meant (in my personal experience) nursing is overrated. I have never been one that can say I just love nursing, or at least the jobs I had. I had good team work at one place but other than that most jobs have been a hot mess. I came to nursing late and had jobs in the service industry (retail, restaurant) and Insurance (office) that overall had much less stress, more team work/comradare, and respect. I get its a job, and I never had a problem with hard work, but nursing can be just brutal. I never knew people could behave so badly until I became a nurse.

Although I only put so much stock in Erikson I also  am experiencing more Integrity vs Despair, so that is a good thing. Onward we go...
