I took the 5th questions trainer with Kaplan and made a 55% on 150 questions. I feel like the more I study, the dumber I get! Anyone else experience this? I feel like my chances of passing are like really slim!

You are not alone. I too did the Kaplan review along with using Suzanne's Plan (Saunders book). I would do the Kaplan question trainer and qbanks. Each time I did them, my results always varied. 50% - 80%. Don't get discouraged. You are doing well.
I did make sure that I did do the last question trainer #7 (265 questions) before I took my exam. I think I got 66%. I then reviewed the rationales and figured the reasons I got some questions wrong. Some reasons I got them wrong, was because I did not know the content, read the question wrong, or just did not understand what they were looking for, or just burnt out on doing these darn questions. ( this is a good time to take a little time off ).
I then would return to doing questions again, and I would take my time answering them. My grades would vary still (up and down), but I did not get discouraged. I kept to my study goal which was reviewing contents, labs, math, meds, etc.
3 weeks before my test, I again took QT #7 and pretended I was taking the real NCLEX. My result was around 85%. I also did ncsbc learning extension. This site does charge you (for 3 wks program = $50.00). I felt that the questions they give you are almost like the nclex. Short and sweet, to the point. I would aim for a 75% on the questions they provided.
I passed my nclex with 75Q on april 21 am will be starting work at the local hospital where I live. (med/surg tele). I hope this will help you not to get discouraged about your grades on the Kaplan review. Just make sure that you do the QT#7 before taking the test and when you take this, that you are taking the real NCLEX. GOOD LUCK to you and your studying.
