I have failed the NCLEX twice? any advice?

Published

Hello,

I just graduated from nursing school in May of 2008 and have taken the nclex 2 times and failed two times. Both times I have had 265 questions. The school I went to had us use ATI and ATI predicted both times that i would pass, the first time with a 97% and the second time with a 99%. I also used saunders as well. I am scheduled to take the nclex Dec 19th. I am frustrated because I do not have a clue as to why I keep failing, I graduated nursing school with a 3.2 and never had a problem taking tests or with test anxiety. The last time i took the nclex at the end of sept, i did everything that everyone recommended and thought i had passed. In the end when I emailed my ATI instructor to ask her why she thinks i keep failing, she accused me of cheating on the prep tests that ati uses to prepare students. So its safe to say that i am done with ATI. If anyone has any advice on what i should do to prepare more, please feel free to offer any words of wisdom. I keep hearing about suzzanes plan, but dont know what that is? anyhow i am so burnt out from studying the last 5 months that i'm not sure what to do next. Thanks in advance for your help!

The first tip of my program can be found in a sticky at the top of this forum as well as second one with giving tips on completing the first tip.

all i can say is that dont give up! i have heard a lot of stories like yours.. and i think there nothings wrong with you. ive taken the nclex more than twice but here i am still rising after each fall with of course lessons learned from each failures.. your a newly graduate i know you can nail this test like everyone does. and yes i will still be taking this test once again and i am considering suzanne's plan. we can do this! keep us posted. GODBLESS.

I too am in the same situation and feel your pain. My story sounds almost identical. I have failed twice but am determined to pass. I'm primarily interested in Suzanne's plan. I've heard good things about saunders and from what I've read so far her plan incorporates the saunders book. I've used the kaplan in the past but since that is not working I think it's time to change my strategy. Keep your head up and keep studying.
