I failed Nclex both times with 75 questions

Published

I am devastated again at my results. The 1st time I can say I didn't take it seriously thinking I got this. This second time though I was studying really hard daily except for Sunday. I made the library at least 6hours daily just to make sure I covered every body system. 'I am the best in patho' my friends say. I used the Hurst review from school, and everything/questions in Lippincott's Q&A 11 edition. Everyone I studied with always asked me to explain things to them and they all passed. I was very confident this time. I wanted to be proud of myself for studying really hard for 21/2 months, unfortunately I failed again. I had more than 25 SATA, about 11 community teaching, 1 calculation, about 12 prioritizing, 2 infection and other random. I can't even tell my friends, I am really sad, I am a disappointment to my family and friends. my dreams of being a critical care nurse seem to be down the drain now I guess. What else can I do?

What were your below passing the first time around?

Understanding WHAT the questions are ASKING you according to the four factors of NCLEX is the KEY to passing the NCLEX:

1. Safe, Effective Care

2.Health Promotion

3. Physical Integrity

4. Psychological Integrity

are all aspects of becoming an entry level nurse.

Review what was below passing and go from there.

Sources I did not see listed are LaCharity, as well as looking into a review course, perhaps the NCSBN (makers of the NCLEX exam) could be an option.

Also, bear in mind that the exam is about APPLICATION, not knowledge; when taking the NCLEX-PN and RN, I NEVER saw a Patho or "knowledge-based only" questions they ALL required choosing the BEST answer (or answers; I didn't have SATA on my PN exam-it's been 9 years since my PN exam) .

Your absolutely correct. I took my Nclex Pn i had several sata's. I used Kaplan to understand how break down the questions and pick the best answer. Dont give up you can pass.God Bless!
