So I failed my first semester of nursing school, but they're letting retake the class in January. I was wondering if anybody had tips for me to review before I start school again. Are there any good a&p and/or chemistry reviews? I think I didn't do too well because of the nclex style exams, so if anyone has tips for that as well...
Also, I did pass my clinical, but my instructor told me I should review meds.
Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

You could look for an NCLEX style book like Saunders for the different topics. They are NCLEX style questions which you will need to know during nursing school. They are tough questions, but they become a little easier once you know how to eliminate "distractors" in the question.
Just remember that content is so important and you really need to know it and retain it for more than just passing a test.
Don't be too hard on yourself - nursing is a difficult path, but you can do it, it just takes work.

Foundations is really all that: Foundation. Know your Maslow's, Infection Control, Nursing Process. Look at the question and actually pinpoint what they are really asking. If you're having to think about, "Well, what if this happened?" then that means you have gone too far into the rabbit hole. The same goes for HESI: Know your ADPIE and figure out where in the process the question is wanting you to move towards. Bottom line: Assess, assess, and assess.
Wait until you have select all that apply.

consider a good study group, 2-4 people only, who are all serious about school. In my group we each bought a NCLEX prep book from different publishers and used them to ask each other questions during our study period. We discussed rationales and where to find the info in the text. That way we could study on our own later to reinforce the ideas.
Good luck!

Study more, with no distractions, simply put. Your exams grades throughout the course should have been the cue.

Get the Success Series Fundamentals review book; also get a book called Critical Thinking and Nursing Judgement. There two books you can find on Amazon.
