I am now an official student in the RN-MSN program! I am so excited and nervous at the same time! I just took another CLEP exam a few days ago...

I graduated from Excelsior ASN July 20 this year and took boards August 15 found out I passed August 17. Is anyone else out there in the BSN or MSN program? Would love to chat with ya!:lol2:

I haven't used any publishing company materials in either the ASN or BSN programs. For the BSN exams, I was able to either check out the recommended books from a library or buy them cheap from sites like half.com.

I didn't use any publishing companies for ASN either except for Ethics. I found Ethics text books too abstract to be able to study from. I likewise purchased all my books from half.com

I am so encouraged that there are no "real" clinicals. The head to toe assessment used to be a "performance" exam. The CPNE just about killed me. Actually it was so easy...all totally mental. Thanks for the info Eric....Good Luck with all your studies

Thanks for the info Eric, I do appreciate it. Best of luck.

Relativly speaing there is very little here about the RN-MSN program. ::( I'm not really sure why. I know there are a few of us here.

I choose to continue with Regents for a number of reasons. I needed flexabilty, a way to control cost. My experience wth Excelsior for my ADN allowed that so I"m hoping that this is going to be as god a fit for me. I'm still waiting for one of my transcripts to get to them for Eval but I"ve got enough to get started. I'm hitting the hard ones first. "STATS" This is going to hurt. I hate math.

If there are enough of us then we should get a study/support group started somewere.

I am currently enrolled in Excelsior's AAS, RN program. I am studying for my A&P & NC1. Is there anywhere besides Excelsior where I can get a A&P book from? Does it matter who makes the book? I am so worried b/c I do not want to fail any classes b/c this school is expensive. It is good for military and their families or anyone who doesn't have time for a classroom nursing program, but the price is :no:WOW!!!!

Anyone who can help me prepare or give me guidance. It will be appreciated...

Thanks

Hi Melody!

I'm doing the BSN through EC. Just finished Professional Socialization with an "A". I'd be glad to correspond anytime with you.

I have since changed over to the BSN program so I can go to USF's Family NP program. I have all but two general eds done (Stats and Expository Writing) and the nursing exam and courses. I am studying CLEP Natural Sciences right now to take July 8.

Hello:

I know that this is a whee bit old.... but check out [email protected] . The group has been quite quiet lately. But the people on there are super nice. Most are EC ADN grads. One, (Lynnette) is doing the ADN-MSN. Robin is almost done with her ADN-BSN. Check out an old post from me on there (#627). It is all about instantcert and also instanstcertforumonline.com. This site helps to prepare for general ed exams and cleps/dantes. I'm sure that you all know that if you belong to the Army or Army reserve they have a contract with EC and your exams will be paid for. As well as the dantes. EC will accept credit for ethics twice. They will take the dantes and EC ethics exams. One is upper credit (EC) and dantes is lower level credit. Yahoo also has a

LPN group .. check this out to if it applies or you know someone whom is doing there LPN-RN currently. Oh, there is also stats by dantes. EC accepts this. I have researched dantes. Anyone can take them now. They are way cheaper than EC exams. I have heard that the dantes ethics is easier too. The instantcert that I mentioned above has a forum. If you check it out you can look up many, many, courses and see what materials other people have used to pass their exam. I have heard that natural sciences is quite the bear. I believe you can join for $20.00 per month. Well sorry for the rant... Hope this helps someone... Take care....:saint::redbeathe:saint:
