I have my CPNE date!

Published

October 8-10th I will be in Syracuse NY to take my CPNE! :)

That was SUPER fast!

My FCCA should be here with the UPS man anytime now today too.

How do you record yourself and put on iphone ? That is such a good idea

I have a memo recorder, and I just have started to record myself. I plug it into the radio in my car and can listen to the mnemonics repeatedly and then practice when I get home. It has really started to help. I have to say too, I am coming up with my own mnemonics. Some of the ones that I have seen are just way too much, and I need to keep it simple.

Conqueror, I feel that it was a waste of my money and time, and I don't like the CD. As a student myself, I feel it only fair to give my opinion on what I feel is wasteful things. $15.00 for a cd of someone reading flashcards when I could do it myself is a waste of money. If I can save another person from doing that, I feel that it's helpful to do so. YMMV.

I also recorded my own mnemonics on a small tape recorder (old school!) and played them in my car. All the time. LOL. By the time I got to my CPNE I couldn't stand the sound of my voice! :D

What kind of memo recorder can you plug into the car? That would be great

I had a regular outlet/plug in my vehicle (Ford Escape Hybrid). But check places like Best Buy or other electronic stores -- they should have small memo recorders that run on batteries, too.

What nursing diagnosis book are we to have for the CPNE? Also, can it have any writing or highlighting in it. Any information will be helpful.

When are you testing? According to the 17th edition of the study guide, which goes into effect in October 1, you can use Mosby's Guide to Nursing Diagnosis, 2nd or 3rd edition (p. 6 of the study guide). You can highlight all you want, but NO WRITING in your book. At the test site where I went, they check our books each morning for any writing. It's on p. 80 of the 17th edition -- it says you can highlight and tab, but no writing. :)

I wont take my CPNE til next year but I wanted to go on and buy it to use with my studying. I am planning on taking reproductive health exam within the next 2 weeks then have LS 1-3. Thanks Lunah for the information.
