I have recently moved from NC to AK, passed the NCLEX and am now in the job hunt. I have applied at three hospitals, two online on the 20th and one (my first choice) in person with a Human Resources person last friday. Well, now I am wondering because when I met with the lady from my first pick, she said she would call me on Monday. It is now Thursday afternoon here, and no call. As for the other hospitals, it has been eight days and nothing. Should I call? How long does this usually take? Help!

My nursing school had a class on finding a job and writing resumes. On the cover page in closing we were to write I look forward to speaking with you, if I don't hear from you I will be calling on Thursday, July 28, 2005 to follow up. AND WE WERE TOLD MAKE SURE WE CALL!!!

I would call and say hello this is Heather and I know you are busy however I interviewed with you last Friday and I just wanted to follow up and Thank You for your time and allowing me to tour your facility. I wanted to let you know I am new to this area and I would really appreciate the opportunity to work for you. ** Go ahead and mail a card of thanks to all three places incase this one doesn't work out.

* Most HR dept are very busy. At the hospital I work at I've heard people say I can't believe there is a nursing shortage because I had to pester HR to get a job here!!! its very true. CALL THEM TOMORROW!!!

P.S. even though you applied online they like to see a face. Make an appointment and take a resume. Its hard to tell someone no to their face.
