NCLEX is a national exam about nursing, no specifics about any state practice act are included. Best to look at your options and choose the study method that looks best to you. Most people are successful not using a review course at all. They just buy a review book and are able to pass with that. Go to a major bookstore, look at what is available, and pick what you like.

I am currently finishing up the Vati. It has tons of material to go through. They bring you through the systems and focus on what you need to learn. I would say that It has been a long ride through. I was generally a good test taker in Nursing school (class of 2010). I scored over 900's on all of my HESI exams. So when I was going to go through Vati, I was failing exams left and right. They want you to pass at a 60% and i was getting hi-50's. Then I would freak myself out and try to go over EVERYTHING. I just did the predictor exam and have a 93% chance of passing the Nclex exam. We will see how it goes my test is Thursday Aug. 19th @ 10am. I will update you. I had to look through my old HESI exams and pump myself esteem up in regards to test-taking just to get my confidence back. It's all up to you though, i know tons of people that benefitted from the VATI.

Hi I'm currently taking the VATI and failing the exams. I'm trying to go over all the learning activities but feeling so overwhelmed. I don't know what to do anymore :-( . I take the boards in two months, I know I will do Kaplan after Vati.
The Vati is extremely overwhelming, I understand how frustrated you are. It is alot of material. Just remember to not lose confidence. these exams are meant to be harder then the actual NCLEX. When I finally took the exam after one month of VATI, Saunders questions, and an Nclex testing App from Droid.........I passed in 75 questions. Looking back, i acttually thought the Nclex questions were easier than i thought they would be. I got tons of SATA, 2-3 Ob, 5 Mental Health, Infection control content was huge, 2 delegations, and pharm q's. Hang in there and stay relaxed.
Thank you for the support and information. I will try to not lose confidence ;-) congratualtions on passing!
