Anyone else out there going crazy waiting to hear if you are accepted?! I have been on three interviews in the past month. Apparently, I wasn't accepted to one because I did not get "the phone call", and I am an alternate at one. So, now the pressure is on to get into the only one that I have not heard from (which also happens to be my first choice ). I know I won't hear anything for at least another month, but I am going crazy here. My life is in limbo.... Anyone feeling the same with some words of encouragement? Thanks! - cheat25:roll

Specializes in ICU, UT knoxville, CRNA Program, 01/07.

Take the time to enjoy a hobby...you wont have any after the program starts...and remember that if you don't get in (which i hope you do), then next year you will already have known what the interview was like, and one more year of experience. Best of luck to you.

I know how you feel...I think if you know when the admission committee meets you can call and ask if you got in and most likely they will tell you over the phone! Best of luck! I have heard of people doing that that have spots at other prgrams b/c they need to know if they can accept or not. Best of luck

I am officialy in the same boat as you are...just had my interview today...boy! I think the worst part is not preparing for the interview-it is waitning for the respons that totaly kills! I agree...

And wating begins...

Do you think if after the interview you generally got a good feeling...may be it is a yes?! Or...it is pretty much you never know...?

I know it's pretty crazy to think that...

yanka, Yes it is crazy to think that way, but we have all done it. I thought one went really well and only made alternate. The truth is, we are all up against very tough competition. We all have the same credentials pretty much. I know for me, applying to CRNA school has been the first time I felt like I would relly have to try hard to be better than the next person. We should all be proud to have made it this far. Good luck.... try not to drive yourself nuts! -cheat25

What are the odds for the dreaded "A- word" applicants (alternate)? I tend to believe that it means I need to be ready to start this process over in a month :uhoh3: . I have heard some horror stories about the timing of acceptances for the alternates. Anyone else in this position?

I was in this exact situation. I got wait listed back in August and just got a call mid-jan saying I was accepted. Luckily I only live an hour from the program and was able to get things in order to start this May. The other nice thing about this program is they take the wait list automatically the next year so I could have said no thanks I'll wait until next year. I have heard of people getting calls because someone didn't show on the first day and they are expected to drop everything and get there or they will be thrown back into the applicant pool the next year. But keep the faith, you still have a shot to get in off the alternate list. Does the school rank the alternates? That will give you a little better idea of what your shot is.

definately call the school if you are on the alternate list. i think all schools rank their alternates just like they rank the admitted candidates. Plus it shows added interest in the program. best of luck during the waiting game
