Members are discussing the logistics of a nursing program at Hunter College, including issues with adding members to a break room, the duration of the program, and the schedule of classes. There is also confusion about program details, such as in-person requirements and class start dates, as well as concerns about the accuracy of emails received from the program director. Additionally, members are sharing information about their commute to the program and comparing it to other universities.
Hey! have not found a thread yet for this coming up hunter pmhnp.
Anybody applied?
I confirmed from someone who graduated from the program that the first year and change the courses are all online. From health assessment and on the in person requirement is 2 days a week which consists of lecture followed by lab. The other courses are pharmacology , diagnosis pathophysiology etc they are typically 6p-9p and 5p-7p on Tuesday/Thursday or Monday Tuesday. I'm also a western Suffolk county resident. I was also accepted to Molloy University however, I chose Hunter because it's more affordable. $1,300 per credit v. $470 per credit is quite a difference. I plan on either taking the LIRR or driving and parking in queens & taking the subway into NYC. I hope this helps.

I'm coming from Suffolk too! Thanks for sharing. So just to clarify we are in person 2x a week or is all the classes online the first year?

Still on the fence about the program since I live about 2-hour train ride from NYC and there seems to be a good amount of in-person classes.
Hi Shawn, did you have any experience in Psych? I was told that you needed at least one year experience as a psych nurse to apply to the PHMNP program at Hunter. This is the reason I did not apply to the program...
