Human Nutrition Online

Published

I am about to start my second semester in college and I just recently got a job so i'm considering taking some classes online. Would Human Nutrition be a good one to take online or would the class be easier in person? I am not a fan of a TON of reading.

I took nutrition in-person, and it was really easy. I've also taken quite a few online courses, and most are pretty okay. Online science courses, such as A&P, can be more frustrating - especially since you have to e-mail the professor about problems instead of just asking after class...

I'm thinking online nutrition would be fine, though! :)

I took nutrition online and it was super easy. I did read the book and the class didn't require much studying. Honestly, nutrition to me was a lot of common sense and information I already learned in other classes.

I just finished mine online and it was great because we could work ahead pretty much the entire course. So I got done 6 weeks early and aced the class!

I have taken nutrition both online and in person and found the online course to be way, way more work than it was worth. There was a heavy component of online discussions and required responses that required internet research and way, way, way too much time consuming work. If you decide to take it online, try to find out ahead of time how the instructor teaches it and how much "discussion" on a weekly basis is required. You may find out that the effort to go to campus to sit in a classroom is easier in the long run.

Okay yeah, I forgot about this frequently being a part of online courses...you may find yourself spending much more time coming up with posts than you would just sitting in a classroom...and often these are actually part of your grade. In the courses I took this term, all of which were online, 5/6 required some form of discussion post(s). This is definitely something you want to think about.
