Is this a hard class and what does it entail? I am hoping to be able to take this class in the summer. I was looking at last summer's schedule and they offered it May 24th - June 11th. It was M-F 9-12. If they offer it again this summer, is this doable?

I'm taking it online and I as I understand it's a pretty easy class. However that's at the school I'm going to. At your school it might be harder or easier, who knows.

I start on Tuesday but I have been reading ahead in the book. Cannot think of the book off of the top of my head, I'm sure that will make a difference for you but it's a black (paperback) book with swirl of colors on the front. I find the material to be easy to read and understand, in fact much easier that General Psych. (not that that was all that hard), mainly because there isn't as much information on the different early psychologists to memorize. I think I'm going to really like this course. I'd say definitely do it, although, I'm not sure I'd particularly care for the schedule you are considering for any subject.

It was an easy A for me. I took it as an online course, as it was offered as such at my community college.

As for what it entails, the other names it commonly goes by at some other schools better describe it, Developmental Psych, Lifespan Psych, Psych across the lifespan(actually i think that was the name of my book, not the course name its offered under).

Really it is more indepth then intro psych was into how we develop on a psychological level across our lifes (think the little section you went into about ericson and his stages in intro psych and majorly expanding on it). It also does include things like moter/memory/cognitive functions, how they devolp in early child hood, how some things decline in late adulthood. And includes factors that affect us in various stages of our like school, work, family, friends. Is broken down into Infancy/toddler/preschool/early childhood/late childhood/teen years/young adulthood/middle adulthood/late adulthood/death and dying.

I'm taking it this semester as well. I think it's a pretty easy class especially because I feel like I can relate to it. As long as you have pretty decent study habits, you should be fine :)

Thanks for the details!!

Thanks for all of your replies! I am not really crazy about that schedule either, but if I get it out of the way, then my nursing workload will not be THAT bad if I am accepted in the fall. The most credits that I will have to take while in the actual program is 11 in one semester.

I too am taking this class online right now and thus far it is easy as well as very interesting. The girl whom I bought my textbook from said the same thing, she took it with several "hard" classes and she got an A-, she even said in all honestly she did not even try very hard and got the A, not to say that u shouldnt try your hardest. nI am currently taking it with anatomy, anatomy lab, and algebra.

best of luck :)

I need take the course now, would you please tell me where I can take the online course for it? Thanks

Look to see if it is offered online at your county's community college. If not, but online would work better, look to see if any neighboring counties' offer it online, though it may cost a little more.

I wish I can take the classes wherever you guys are taking it because at my CC this class is hard, and the professor is like way strict. I failed an assignment before she said that it wasn't in APA format when it was. There were so many assignments to do and so much reading from the text and internet. I am taking it for a second time so hopefully it won't be as bad.
