Hello all,

I'm starting this thread for the new applicants for the hrsa nursing scholarship 09-10. Tor prettylady, I think its a random selection. Its the luck of the draw.

Hello! i have been reading this thread every day to see what the buzz is. myself and a friend of mine both received the email on tuesday, but no other word! i just wanted to say that if either of us hear anything i will let you all know... the suspense is killing me!!!!

Did either of you get a credit check? Can you log into your HRSA accounts? If yes, is anything different? Do you mind sharing what kind of program you're in and what year? Thanks! (I'm obviously grasping at straws here!)

Seeing your earlier post just put me into a reality check! You obviously need this, definately more than me. I sent up a little prayer for you, and hope that you get awarded! And as a single mom, check out your resources on campus. My daughter goes to my school's daycare, and they hooked me up with some grants and things that helped to subsized my childcare. Its called CCAMPIS. You are doing an amazing thing for your girls! :heartbeat

This is great practice for patience. I haven't gotten any emails. Did anyone get an email this week? My guess is that we'll be getting something in the mail at the end of this week. Just a prediction.

Thanks alot massagetoRN. I feel that we all must need this dearly after all we all have efc of 0. So a prayer to you too. I just cant wait till Sept. 30 at least that way I know either way and I can save all my stress for school.

I never checked to see if they did a credit check, and i have not tried to log into the HRSA account because, well, there is no reason to. We are in an ADN program, in our last year. from what i understand is that they take everyone who is in the first preference group and do a lottery to give out the scholarships. they did say they prefer undergraduate programs, so that could either be ADN OR BSN, i dont think it makes a difference. they have NEVER given scholarships to anyone who is not in the first preference category. in fact, last year only 25% of those who were in the first preference actually got the scholarship. hopefully due to the stimulus money we will have better odds this year.

no email for me yet either...

about sept 30, even if we havent heard anything by then, there is still a chance. remember it says if youre NOT selected, you will be notified 'in october'. i guess there is a chance that ppl that were offered it dont accept the award.

im still holding out hope. i have been very patient. also a single mom, only working 8 hrs a week. at this point, the scholarship really would be a salvation. i think we could all do so well in school if we didnt have to worry about how to cover tuition books and 'other reasonable costs'.

im in the first funding preference group, so at this point it is just totally random. all we can do is pray. and continue to harass the call center.

I gave up on it finally:scrying: I dropped a class at the last minute, so now I'm not full time and not in the first funding preference group. Good luck everyone else!

I am just having a hard time keeping up with anything lately. I really don't believe that I would have ever been selected anyway.
