2012-2013 HRSA Nursing Scholarship Application

The application process hasn't even started yet but I didn't even find out about last year's scholarship until a couple days before the deadline. I did get my application in on time but was not fortunate enough to be a recipient. I intend to apply again for the upcoming scholarship. Any tips from those that were accepted? My EFC is 0, I'm in an undergraduate program, and my GPA is 3.4.

Did you get it without a credit check?

Hi all, where are you checking your credit? I pulled mine from freecreditreport.com and there was significantly less information there than I expected to see, as well as 0 evidence that they had checked my credit. 3.95 GPA, strong essays though no volunteer background, I thought I'd be a shoe in. If we don't hear by the 31st of August, are we all giving up hope?

I know I am if I dont hear anything I will just think like another lady said, "that there is someone else out here who needed this more than I did" and try to find peace with that, Its totally understandable that its impossible for every single person whom applied will get the scholarship but everyone is trying their luck, the bottom line is We all will = Nurse one day so with my semester starting next week Im not going to invest my energy in this scholarship rather my studies I hope everyone has a successful school year ! Has anyone from Maryland (silver team) heard yet? I just called and was told that I was under final verification review. I have no idea what that means and she could not clarify the term.

I submitted my paperwork, the contract and w-4 on August 7th. Do you know when we will get FINAL notification? I called HRSA a few days after I sent everything and she said once we turn in our paperwork, we should hear from HRSA in 1-2 weeks after we submit our documents. Its been 2 weeks and some days, so I was just wondering if anyone has got their "FINAL" letter?

Nothing in my paperwork changed from when I first apply so I'm just confused what the hold-up is? I need answers!! lol!! :)
