2019-2020 HRSA Nursing Corps Scholarship

Updated:   Published

I can't seem to find a thread on the latest round of Nurse Corps Applications, So I'll start. My initial point is more of me venting, but guess I'll ask - Should I even continue with my application? The new cycle and FAFSA wants us to use 2017 tax info, but in 2017, I was preparing for school and was employed full-time. Now that I'm collecting pennies and in dire need of assistance, it looks like my EFC is almost 8000. I can rarely work in reality. I'm really disheartened and confused as to why the FAFSA is set up like that.

Is anyone else experiencing this?

Just continue to patient with God’a plan. Checking our emails and this website constantly creates anxiety. Everything is bound to workout in all of our favors.

Amen! ?

I am so nervous! Literally in tears. I got my finalist email weeks ago and submitted my stuff a few days later. My account was in final review and everything was looking good. Yesterday I was reading in the 2018-19 page about their accounts and how there was a glitch and a bunch of people didn’t win even after they were finalists or their accounts changed from final review to under review. I prayed this wouldn’t happen to me. It did. I woke up this morning and my contract disappeared and now my account says “under review” even though I was a finalist and signed and turned everything in. I called the customer service number and she said on her end I’m still a finalist and I ended up calling a contact I had for Nurse Corps and the man on the other end wasn’t very helpful. He said he didn’t know why it changed and couldn’t tell me any info (even though he was the last to change/interact with my application). PRAYING that I win. I’m a broke 19 year old who needs to finish her BSN.

Hi, I read your post and got nervous as well! So I checked my portal and it did say I'm still "In Final Review" I just want to let others know my status

If they’re still saying you’re a finalist, trust what they see!!

Thank you for the encouragement. Keeping my fingers crossed and just waiting to see what happens. I'm going to let it be. If I don't win, I'll figure it out and at least I get to choose where I work totally. Wishing the best of luck to everyone!

Something about this scholarship isn't right. I read back and a lot of students went through this, but I pray that everything works out with your application. You got this, keep a level head and continue to have faith. You'll get the scholarship ?

Ikr!! I was just reading about this yesterday on the forum for 2018-19 and thought they wouldn’t let it happen this year. Thank you so much ♥️♥️♥️

So, with all of this uncertainty and with so many of us still waiting to hear something, I have to ask what is everyone's plan B? Will you withdraw from school? Or... ?

I'm undecided but I do not have another way to pay for school so I may have no choice but to withdraw. ?

Omg I hope you win!!! I really do hope all the finalists win to be honest. I’ll just have to rely on my parents and loans and maybe work once a week to pay my bills and groceries. I really didn’t want that to happen. I just want to go to school and not worry about finances

Thank you ! I hope you win as well. I'm maxed out on loans and already got money from FAFSA but there's still an unworkable balance due. I'm a military spouse and my husband is away at the moment. Things are already so stressful, I seriously need this to come through. Ughhh it's so frustrating I want to cry! We will all have our answers soon though.

Wishing everyone here lots of luck! ?
