Just finished my application for the HRSA Nurse Corp Loan Repayment Program 2023 program! Nervous but excited to see what comes of it, I see that the competition is extreme but it looks like over the past few years they've been given more funding to award!
Question as well: Does disadvantaged background apply to RN/APRN's applying or only to nurse faculty? I included the form anyway, just in case it helped my case as I am the first in my family to attend college.
Here are my qualifiers:
FNP-C
Behavioral Health - Pediatrics
DTI <100% - Just at 0.95% (This is the total qualifying education loan balance divided by base annual salary)
I'm an RN. First time applying for the NCLRP. I was notified on June 30th that I was a finalist. My contract was countersigned on September 7th. The first payment is expected before the end of October.

I'm guessing that awards are not issued based on NP vs. RN status. More likely, it's where you fall in the rankings for DTI ratios and facility HPSA scores, I.e. the tiers listed in the program guide.

Oh man. I wonder if I should call to ask if awards are still being given out. Is the phone wait time long? I remember during the application period it was a 3 hour wait ?
I called. It was just a 2 minute wait. They said people are still being notified and will be notified til Saturday 9/30. No awards will be given past that date. The person I talked to said people will get a rejection email no later than that date as well.
