I heard that HRSA has received millions from the "spend-no-less" package passed by congress last month that is "ear-marked" for nursing students, physician assistant students and myriad of other health related education. I was also told that these are grants which include tuition, room and board and even a stipend! This young lady works for HHS, which is aparently overseeing most of this money. She told me this program will be posted on their website in a week or so(this was 2 weeks ago).
Has anyone out there heard about this program? Please tell me everything you know about it!!!
Thank you - Jim

Not sure if this is what you're talking about but it seems that's it's only to pursue nursing education or nursing faculty positions:

The Recovery Act will provide money for the Nursing Education Loan Repayment Program (scroll down to the bottom of the page at http://www.hrsa.gov/help/healthprofessions.htm. There will be more monies for this program, and HRSA will put out another call for applications.
Getting a NELRP has been very competitive --- last year there were over 6,000 applications and only 232 were funded. Criteria include where you are working fulltime, and what your debt load is. I had several former students apply, and they were not funded because their debt load was too low (priority in the past was given to those who owed more than their annual salary). You have to be working as a fulltime RN at the time of application to be eligible.

ive heard about the HRSA scholarship. but i dont know if that is the same thing you are talking about? it probably is.
HRSA has many programs for Schools and students. My link (above) lists all of the programs that individuals can apply for.
The NELRP is the only programs that individuals can apply for now that is getting extra stimulus dollars.
