Hi.

In my experience HR usually is a 8-4, Mon-Fri type of gig.

Now if the hospital is a Federal/Government-type of medical center, then the hours are more like 08:30-15:30. And no, I'm not being mean. I worked at VISN3- NYC VA Medical Center.

Most, if not all, HR departments are not open on weekends at all. Good luck with the position, though.

Yeah I've never heard of any HR that works on saturdays. Could be wrong though...

Are you afraid you will miss the call? Do you have an answering machine or voice mail that you can check from work with a password? Just a thought. Then if they called, you could ask to take a break and return the call.

Can you have your calls forwarded to your cell phone and set your cell phone on vibrate so you know when the call comes in? I really doubt that you will find HR to be open on Saturday. The only HR I've ever known to be open on Saturday was the personnel office in the military, and that was only if there was something special going on. They weren't open for ordinary business. You will probably have to wait to Monday to find out anything if your call didn't come in on Friday. Good luck with your application.

the nursing coordinator in a hospital told me to wait for the HR to call me on friday to have me meet them on saturday. but they didnt call me last friday. and i came from night shift and i was sleepy that friday. yeah as far as i know they work on mon-fri. i'll call them on monday and have some follow up. i really wanted to work in a hospital setting.

thank you for your replies!
