How did you study for the NCLEX?

Published

At the moment I am only doing the Hurst review online courses. This is all I am studying and I was hoping someone can give me some more study tips. I really need to pass it. Please post any tips that helped you pass the nclex. :)

I studied from Saunders and did 100 NCLEX-style questions everyday for 3 months. I focused on my weak areas and did extra questions. I passed the NCLEX on the first attempt.

Materials that i used:

- Saunders (content)

-Mosby pharma memory cards (pharmacology)

-Kaplan Strategies 2011-2012 (prctice questions)

-Exam Cram (practice questions)

-NCSBN 3wks (practice questions)

-La Charity (for prioritization)

Since im out of school for 3years, i studied first content then did lots of prctice questions. i made specific plans, wrote it in the paper then i followed it religiously. my study plan is like Cardio (content), Cardio (drugs) and Cardio (practice questions). i studied topic by topic.

i shutdown myself for 5months. just eat sleep study. i studied for about 4-8hours and 5days/week.This is how i want this so bad. I also prayed a lot and ask the Lord for guidance.

i just want to say goodluck and GODbless on your study. Each of us has its own way of studying, just do what works for you and follow your plans. Just be focus, be determined, have faith. YOU CAN DO THIS!

I passed with 75 questions

Hi. I studied for a week. I used Kaplan. Did 900ish questions and I tried using Saunders for content review but it overwhelmed me because it's wordy. I don't think any studying really could have prepared me for the NCLeX. I found the questions to be much different than Saunders and Kaplan. Also, I had nearly 20 select all that apply. I finished and passed in 45 minutes with 75 questions. I used critical thinking and instinct that was burned into my brain during nursing school. Good luck!
